Bbach1
Bad weather day in ND with tornadoes and end of the world looking clouds, but Stanton, ND got hit with massive hail. Grapefruit size. Pics in the local paper. Incredible! Looked like the stuff on the movie "Day After Tomorrow". Huge. Just plain huge. Wish I had a picture, but the Bismarck Tribune did not put the real big ones on their internet site. They had shots in the printed paper. I wonder why they left those of their website? In the pics, a lady was holding three pieces in her hands and there just plain massive. From what I hear, not too many windows left intact in town. bbach Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder. fantasticsound
I heard about this last night, but again, no pics. Here's a pic of similarly sized hail from a 2003 storm: http://www.ucar.edu/research/storms/images/grapefruit-hail300.jpg It's easiest to find me on Facebook. Hairfarmer
According to The Weather Channel, yesterday was the worst day on record for tornado activity in the US. I believe they said that there was 31 NWS verified tornado's across the US, yesterday alone. I know of two F3's that hit in Minnesota not far from my son's apartment. Kind of freaked him out. He's accustom to them here in Missouri, but he thought he was too far north to see one in Minnesota...especially this time of year. Kerry

The pics in the paper were from a lady who picked the gigantuan hail off of her living room floor after they crashed through her window. bbach Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder. No major population areas hit except the town of Underwood got trashed. I drove in from Minnesota yesterday afternoon and drove through some horrendous rain. I did hear that Minnesota got hit with some F3's. The sky looks a bit ominous this evening again. bbach Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder. caprae
I did hear it on NPR on the way home tonight. They interviewed a local. You could tell the interviewer was playing with the lady because of that leftover Swedish/Norwegian accent. (Which I grew up with ) Raise your children and spoil your grandchildren.
