I've always loved the sound of it, but I've never given much thought to the guitar itself.

After very intensive searching, the only thing I could find out was that, the guitar was played by a studio musician named Hugh Burns. He's played on a ton of very well known songs. I couldn't find anything about what type of guitar he was using.

Getting closer! "Hughs instrument of choice is a Gretsch Synchromatic C400 fitted with an Armstrong pickup. He also uses the more familiar Gibson ES-345 and Ibanez George Benson guitars.

I voted for Baker Street myself, although I had a tough choice between it and Soul Sacrifice. Santana's first album was such a revelation to me at the time it came out, and Soul Sacrifice was my first favorite off of it.
