Forgot to request matching headstock, but you get the idea... I think this finish will MAKE this guitar!

Oh wow, I'm really diggin' that axe!! It's got a real funky vibe goin' on. Personally, the only thing I wouldn't like so much is the volume knob placement-I like to be able to use my pinky to adjust the volume, but otherwise, I would definately get a guitar like that.

Controls can be put basically anywhere for the individual. That is the nice thing about a custom built guitar...

Ya know Boggs, I like everyting on that axe except the color choice! that same kind of black on a LesPaul for instance always look so cheap to me. Just a personal opinion but if that was in solid black it would be fantastic!

No reason it couldn't be special ordered in solid black... These are individually custom built after all... ;)

I don't know. I'm generally not into black bursts, but I kind of leaning toward it. It would be a shame to totally cover up a sweet piece of wood, though. Will this be opaque or transparent?

This would be different wood entirely. It would be an entry level with poplar rear routed and chambered and birch high end laminate back with standard access panel. I wouldn't cover the high end woods like that. This would be paint...

Cool look, leave the headstock natural. I don't really get the same vibe off that guitar as I do from a blackburst Les Paul, and that's a good thing(I hate that finish on an LP, usually).Great job.

A-string, NICE JOB!! That is what I envisioned! Mazi Bee is going to try different colors too as he is curious himself...!!

You will note that I have DRASTICALLY dropped the pricing in that I am adding virtually zero labor into the price. It is the only way I can see getting guitars out there. You will see that reflected on my site...

I will have to build one with poplar and birch to see the true affect on tone, but it is a good tonewood. It typically just isn't pretty and lends itself better to painting. Paint alone will probably make a difference over my French Polish, but it remains to be seen. It could be done with maple instead of pop;ar, but it would probably cost more. I am in development of the concept here still and all of your feedback is JUST FRIGGIN' EXCELLENT!!!! Thank you all so much!!! I want to build guitars true to my concepts, but still what people would want to own. Your advice helps me get there!! I still won't make any money for 5 or more years, but I have that long at Xerox to put food on the table. After that, I am going to have to start making money at this. I can't do that without pricing to get guitars into people's hands and building a reputation.

The "Antigua" finish idea sounds kind neat to me, a little lighter color than black for the edges, to the same light grey in the middle, maybe with F holes outlines in the same darker color. Hey, you could borrow a patch from the Gretch Tennessean and paint F holes on it, and do white or light-color outlines around them, then use the same color as the guitar's edges to "sunburst" them.

I still think the natural headstock would be cool, nicely figured wood with a gold logo, "Camelback, by Boggs" or something. Make it a trademark.

Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.

Here it is with a black headstock and also with a little lighter colour as is or with a logo etc.

Let me know if you want any other colours, I could do a few for you to have a look at.

Pretty carned cool stuff!! Remember, I am trying to keep costs down, so getting too fancy will, while being an option to the customer, certainly drive the finish cost/price up a bit. I have to do a vendor search for this stuff as I have no painting skills or a booth in which to do this. Reaction and feedback is what I have been hoping for and you guys have been the absolute BEST!!! ;)
