Griff...you stud!

Good to see a fellow Hair Farmer rep-ruh-zent-in LARGE up in he-uh! (In other words, great looking ol' lady ya got there bro.)

As for Jessica and Pam...Cover me in butter and put me between those two slices of whole wheat bread ANYDAY!...Talk about a dream sandwich!...I'd slop them up like a plate of gravy with no biscuit!...I'd throw dirt on'em just so I could lick it off'em!

But I have no standards, so yes, they may actually be butt-ugly.

Point to consider...

If she's selling records on her looks, not on her musical talent (which she is) then we have every right as potential consumers (even though we're not) to criticize her appearance.

That said, no, I wouldn't kick her out of bed, but I wouldn't give my girl up for her either...

In one of those pictures she looks like she wants to kill someone. It's really creepy, actually.

Britney Spears is another one. Did you see that video that was going around where her husband was "interviewing" her? I don't think there's a whole brain between the two of them. That had to be one of the most vapid conversations ever inflicted upon the world. I kept waiting for something intelligent to be uttered by either one of them and it just never happened...I have no idea what the point was, unless they just wanted the world to know exactly how empty-headed they are.

puleeze, that hairdo is not becoming anyone 'cept Vanilla ice.

any other pics of her are very attractive in a very natural way. besides i am allergic to empty heads. Pink has a beauty that runs all the way through.

Personally, I don't even know who the hell she is. I hear about her on the radio. Everyone talks about her. I just don't give a fuck about hype.

Is she hot? Of course. All pop/TV/movie stars are hot. Thats what gets them in the door.

You can always nitpick with celebrities. I always do. Thats the fun of it. Like armchair coaching but with hot chix. Make no mistake, I'd give her the dickens, but there are plenty of hotties--no?

OK...yep I found plenty of stuff on Ani. She's a talented gal. It's not music that I would run out and buy, I guess...but it's certainly listenable. Good guitar work. I think that vocal style has been done completely to death in the past few years, though.

She's most definitely light-years beyond Jessica Simpson...

My son turned me on to Ani DiFranco years ago, when she was still being coy about her sexual orientation in order to appeal to the lesbian folkie community :D ...I think the reason the vocal style's been done to death is because everybody's copying Ani!

Remarkable woman - made her own recordings, sold them herself out of the trunk of her car after shows, started her own record label - handles every aspect of her business herself. An example to all of us.

Well...I would not see her as an example to us all of what we all can do.

She's actually more of an oddity than anything else.

I've said it before...she is the ONLY one that ever gets mentioned (for like 10-15 years now) when someone wants to make a point about how you can do it all on your own.

Common now...if it was easy...or if there was some "formula" that were just not applying properly...

don't you think someone else would have gone as far as Ani by now?

But you only hear"Ani DiFranco".

She found her groove and shes been riding in it for 10-15 years now.

And there are a lot of folks that will say "Aniwho???"...'cuz she really hasn't made that much of a nationwide/global impact.

She's more of a niche artist...that is known well by her niche audience...and by other artists due to the hype generated by the artist/musician grapevinelike here.

HeckI think she uses hype as much as any record company would have done to promote her. So her rebellion against the major labels is really quite meaningless in the big scheme of things.

Its not difficult remaining smallstaying on the fringes. Anyone can accomplish THAT.

Oh...and I'm not saying she isn't talented...I just don't see her as a major role model for "making it"...

Sorry for the segue...let's get back to trashing Jessica! ;)

I love Ani. My sister started me off, just gave me a few songs. She's fabulous. She couldn't be all I listen to, but she's great.

Plus she's incredibly beautiful. :love::)

c'mon Miro, the girl plays what she wants and has no bullcrap lable dictating to her what to play.

she has artistic freedom and an audience who isn't flying away when ever they are told someone else is the next big thing.

she is actually making money as well.

what isn't desirable about that?

and she has talent. and in my opinion has actually MADE it.

she is in control of her destiny and as far as i am concerned she is one hell of a role model for anyone.

yeah she found her groove, thats better than using someone elses formula.

i actually love her music. it is deep and creative.

world recognition isn't the benchmark for success. is it?

sure it isn't easy getting where she has, it isn't supposed to be easy.

but she has focused on her music and is now reaping the benefits.

popular artists don't, they go through the standard formula and steps as layed out by the puppetmasters, then we dwell on thier daily star crap and bla, bla.... after awhile it isn't about music, it is about stardom.

yeah, by some peoples standards she may have not "made it" but i bet she is happier and better off than some "artists" who think they have made it.

that is what i would want.

I'm not taking anything away from Ani's talent...or from her efforts...

...I'm just saying that she is a rather singular oddity.

It's not like everyone can follow in her footsteps and end up in the same place...that's why I said she's not really a good example of "how to do it"...as it won't work for everyone.

And again...in all these years...it is only her name that ever gets mentioned when someone says you can "do it all on your own".

That's all.

I like Ani, her music represents more of a definite mood of mine than one of my all-time favorites but I do have a lot of respect for her and think she's talented... and ballsy... don't laugh there's a lot to be said for ballsy these days. I think lyrically shes much more appealing for women then men.

I think its funny how we took a sharp turn from the original topic of conversation... from Jessica Simpson to Ani Difranco... can you say exact opposites? You guys are awesome. What would be more interesting than debating one woman's beauty would be a display of all our favorites maybe even why... my pic for beauty and personal style I like the whole mystic fairy tale thing

Stevie Nicks is like Janis Joplin. Sometimes love it, some time want to break the player to make it stop. She is the kind of face that I dug allot when young, not really now. I still find it attractive, I have realized how many different kinds of beauty there are.

Ani's a hottie, no doubt. And a talented one.
