When JFK died, I was in 3rd gradde and got sent home early from school.

When MLK died, I didn't really know who he was (sort of sad).

When RFK died, I heard it on the radio in the morning.

When Elvis died...I honestly can't remember how I heard (does that make me a bad rock 'n roller?)

When Lennon died, I heard it on Monday Night Football from Howard Cosell, who announced that John had been shot. I had a mental picture of him recovering in a hospital bed and cracking stupid jokes about it. Alas..that was not to happen.

Sasquatch51 will be happy to know that I just deleted what I just typed....the Forum is safe!!!!!

Changed my mind...I can ignore one goose-stepping, pin-headed, nitwit troll jerk-off. I'm not going anywhere....

Goose-stepping. Nice. Racial bigotry.

Pin-headed. Also nice. I guess that means you think I'm stupid. Perhaps, but it would seem that my ability to communicate exceeds yours.

Nitwit jerk-off. Nice. Once again suggesting stupidity and, a propensity to masturbate?

Would it make your life easier if I told you I was a black Muslim? Then you could say things about my ancestry and my religiion.

You are a bigot. Not so nice.

I'm actually 62. I wanted to see if I could fool you. :D:P

People have told me I'm an old soul. Even when I was a baby. They said I was the zen baby. Kind of weird.

Hey...just "expressing my opinion", which seems to be all the rage these days. It ain't so great when the tables are turned, is it?

A couple of salient points...

1. In order for it to be "racial bigotry", it would have to have been directed against a race of people. "Goose-steppers" is not a race of people. It is bigotry against goose-steppers. As far as I know, the idea that "goose-steppers" is a "superior race" was shot down in the 1940's...unless you still hold to that idea. In that case...who's the bigot?

2. I did not mention your name in my post. True to your history, you ASSUMED that it involved you. Maybe it did, maybe it didn't. If the shoe fits, wear it. In a similar vein, the original discussion that you chose to wade into did not concern you either...it had nothing to do with you. It was between Shoes and myself and we had already worked it out. We didn't need your opinion (which was irrelevant anyway).

I can be as big an asshole as anyone. I don't want to be, but I won't be pushed around or bullied, either. If you don't want this sort of discussion and discord, then leave the political comments out. It's simple...even a pin-head can understand it if he strains and tries real hard.

I am an American and damned proud of that fact. George Bush is the President of my country. I made no attacks against your President or your country, nor anyone elses, and I will not tolerate it against mine. In fact, I didn't say anything at all except in protest to what I percieved (at the time) as a verbal attack against the President of my country. I have a right to protest it and defend my President and I will do so without fail. The rules of this forum are very clear on that point. This is one place that I can come to be with my friends and have fun and GET AWAY FROM THAT SHIT. I have a right to come here and not have to put up with wisecracks about my President or my religous or political beliefs.

The "goosestepper" comment was designed to make a point, and to make you understand where I'm coming from. If you aren't interested in doing that, then maybe you should consider just butting out. It did not concern you to begin with....you jumped into something that was none of your business to start with and resurrected a dead issue. And...if you don't want to try to see my point, then screw you. I don't much give a shit what you think anyway.

You did kinda say you were going to stop before. Oh well. I hope you do now. This is definitely going too far.

Peace everybody.

I fail to see the value in this thread going on....Sas wasn't wrong to voice indignation over the comment Shoes jokingly made. I honestly believe that to be nothing more than awkwardly chosen humor. The US is taken far less seriously by folks born elsewhere. I know - I live here. Sas was also ready to let the matter drop, and he came under attack, and fought back with his usual vehemence and vigor.

This topic innocently asked where we were when Elvis died! How did it get this far out of hand? There was no basis for any of this crap that ensued. I don't wanna see anyone leave over this, but I do hope that some boundaries were learned here, and will be respected.

Never a DUH! moment! Well, almost never. OK, OK! Sometimes never!
