Bbach1
Ok you PRS people, tell me about the Dragon II's. I've narrowed down my next purchase to a Nik Huber or a PRS Custom 22. The Nik Huber is a highly overpriced boutique guitar, but crap, I fall for that stuff. What can I say. My local dealer did a review on the Orca for the recent issue of Vintage Guitar mag. He had the Orca for a few days. I'll say one thing for Nik Huber, wow, they are flawless and a thing of true beauty to hold in your hands. However, I'm not taken with the Harry Häussel pups. The tone is ok. Liveable. They sound a lot like Duncan Custom Customs of which I am tired of from all the Hamers I have owned. Kind of bland to my old ears. So - the fellow that wrote the review says, "knowing you, you are gonna want the dragon II pups. He's going to bring his personal PRS down to the shop for me to noodle with. Any comments on those pups? bbach Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder.
Bluesape
I love the sound of those - through a Rivera rig I've heard them sing - never heard a better tone in a small room. That was Bugs Henderson, who may be the hottest little known guitarist of all time! Never a DUH! moment! Well, almost never. OK, OK! Sometimes never! Dr. Ellwood
I have three PRS guitars, the Dragon II's are on two of them and they are great! They can be very warm and full of nice PAF Gibsonish tone and they can be very cutting edge on treble and anything else inbetween really with the variable pickup selector. I think you would like them very much. http://www.thestringnetwork.com
Tone Taster
Sorry to be a party pooper, but I have yet to hear anything which tops the Duncan Antiquities Cut to the chase - No wax and hand wound. I LOVE my Dragons on my PRS, too - but my project axe has a landslide vote for the Antiquities. There were going to be Dragons in there, but that appointment has been cancelled
