Guitar Geezer
Not the one you're thinking of, but CHARLIE ROBISON » Sunset Boulevard Lyrics Well, I wish I had my picture on the Rolling stone today I wish that the Enquirer spread a rumor that I was gay I wish I had some buddies, some movie stars and such Cause I probably wouldn't worry about the two of us as much And I'd spend all my money on caviar and cocaine And I would not remember how you broke my heart today You know I, I wish I had a super model so skinny and so wild And a waitress in Nevada, she says she's carrying my child I'd drive down Sunset Boulevard, my hair blowin' in the wind I'd stop at fancy restaurants and they'd finally let me in And I'd spend all my money on caviar and cocaine And I would not remember how you broke my heart today Yeah, I wish I had my picture with the Rolling Stones today And I wish the enquirer would spread a rumor that I was gay I wish I knew a movie star, someone like Charlie Sheen 'Cause if he'd hang out with Kato Kaelin Well I guess he'd hang out with me And I'd spend all my money on caviar and rogaine And I would not remember how you broke my heart today Lynn G

webe123
I have been looking for the band that sings it and the lyrics to this song about jimi hendrix...none of the others here are it, I remember the verse says something about "jimi plays his worn out guitar" It also says something like "he never knew the change he made...four thousand people stood and prayed".... (the song is a male lead with an accoustic guitar) Anyway, the main chorus says something like "down on sunset boulevard...we gonna leave it all behind." If anybody knows who sings this song please post. I hear this at work all the time, but I do not know what the title is or who sings it and it is driving me crazy. webe123
I found it! It is by Scott Grimes and the song is called sunset boulevard. The reason I could not find it was because there are so many songs by so many artists are by that same name. Here is a video of it if anybody wants to see it: http://www.allmusicvideocodes.com/s/scott_grimes/sunset.html
Mass Effect
The only good thing about Sunset Boulevard is where it ends at the PCH. Decent place to surf and good eats at Gladstones. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c20/ak511/SunsetBlvd.jpg quote:Originally posted by mdrs: It's pure B.S., and obvioulsy inaccurate. Dr. Ellwood
Originally posted by Darklava: Just thought it was cool she was singing about JH,never heard anybody do that other then Eric Burdon. Mick Jagger did, when he wrote "Me and Mr. Jimmie down to the corner drug store to get a soda,my favorite cherry red." Was said to be talking about Jimmie Hendrix. Contained within "You Can't Always Get What You Want" Also mentioned in a tune by the Atlanta Rhythm Section called HOMESICK, later covered VERY well by Travis Tritt. Also I think within Monterey by the Animals. http://www.thestringnetwork.com

But in most circles JV is known as "the greasy,50's retro looking cradle mate of a true guitar genius" Man oh man I wish those would have been my words origianlly! One positive piece of information to be gleaned out of this is that the gene that controls guitar playing genius is not transferable by proximity. http://www.thestringnetwork.com
