The OCD would work for SRV and Hendrix, but the I think the modded DS1 will get you right on the spot for Satriani, Lynch, and King's X. I'd say go with the DS1.

Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.

yZe - I don't know where you're getting your information from, but I think it's wrong. :D

Last GP issue I read was on Eric Johnson's newest album and he didn't mention anything about one. I could be wrong though. He does like the Fulltone Choral Flange and some of the other stuff that's coming out.

Nonetheless, he hasn't really changed his rig in years. It's always been 2 Fender [somethings, usually a deluxe reverb] and 2 Marshall Plexis with a plethora of pedals.

(If your post was a joke, ignore this.)

Shut up and play.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I have both of these pedals. I almost never use the DS-1. The OCD has vastly superior sound quality and dynamics in my opinion. I don't play metal, however, so I can't attest to the OCD's suitability for that genre.

You mean Homebrew?

It is homebrew, not homegrown

I had my drugs confused

Anyway, I have bought some things ear unheard and been amazingly pleased, and other times not quite as pleased

That is why the research is very important

While I am not trying to make you a guineau pig ;) , and do not recommend "blind faith" by any means, I do believe that this pedal warrants some due diligence on your part, based on the reviews

Here's a photo

As far as my next gain-stage type pedal, this is it

A 9.4 rating based upon a sample size of 10 reviews seems to be well above average

Well, if you scroll to the 4th photo down - you will see that a picture is worth a thousand words:

OCD is an overdrive and DS-1 is a distortion pedal, they're different in my opinion. Get both -- a stock DS-1 is only $40, and you can get it modded later by Analogman or Keeley or whoever. I use my OCD much more often than my (unmodded) DS-1.
