Rufio90210 Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 ive been lookin for a cheap valve amp and just stumbled across this peavey valve king for £279 50 watts. why is it so cheap is it shit? i play a marshal jcm200 dsl401 today and loved the sound of it, its an extra £100 and 40watts. i need your opinions of each one. also would 40 and 50watts be ok to gig with in these amps? HAHAH im a sandwich
A String Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 I see you're having trouble getting a response... Give it some time, there are several guys on here who have experience with those amps, I'm sure you'll get your answer as soon as they log on. Until then, welcome to the forum! Xplorer Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 Sorry I can't comment on either of those two amps, but I would definatley recommend the Epiphone Valve JR as a cheap valve amp. (it's only 5 watts though, not a good one for gigging) What a horrible night to have a curse.
picker Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 Everything I have heard about the Valve King is bad. Don't go there. 40 wattts is plenty for gigging most places, and the difference in loudness between 40 & 50 watts is not noticeable. Spend the extra bux for the Marshall, you'll be glad you did. Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.

Dr. Ellwood Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 Yes I agree! Lots of negative comments on Valve King, you will like the Marshall sound and when you get time to really learn that Marshall you will get even more out of it! http://www.thestringnetwork.com
