Hi, im looking for an amp suitable for gigging and a maximum £500 price tag.

Im looking for generally that sort of 60s sound, the stones, beatles, kinks and also the sort of sound that alot of modern bands have such as kings of leon, the libertines, white stripes.

Its my birthday tommorow and my dads takin me out to buy one and i havent a clue of anything. just give me some models and ill read about them on the net, ive heard good things about peavey?

You can get a Marshall 100 DFX 2x12 combo for about £250ish.

You should get a Vox AD120VT for £500ish.

I can't find a price for an AC30 top boost off hand.

>> EDIT: just found it at around £650ish :0(

what about hiwatt...? from what I hear they have a great vintage sound... bands like The Killers, Jet, and David Gilmour use them today.. not sure if the nicer ones are in your price range tho...

AC15 is cheaper with similar sound but less power, isn't it?

I got to agree with everyone here. Im not a huge fan of VOX but what their amps do they do well. I say the AC30, the AC15 is cheaper yeah, But smaller too. You said you want gigging abilitys, The '30 might just be the ticket.
