revolead Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 I know, I'm late on the bandwagon as usual. But I had to make it known that if you do not own this and you play guitar, you should. Anyone have a favorite player from the DVD (not in general, but from that performance)? Shut up and play.
Guitar55 Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 I like John Mayer's performance. The guy with the worst tone at that show was....E.C.!
Dr. Ellwood Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 For sure! take a look at the Jimmie Vaughn performance, it's a real eye opener! Take a look and I guarantee it will make you feel like you are doing great with your own guitar playing! http://www.thestringnetwork.com

Mike Gug Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 The leftie playing with Robert Randolf. Whoa! Mikegug www.facebook.com/theresistancemusic
BriBaby Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Mayer surprised me as well, Vince Gill kicked ass too. Once I thought I saw you, in a crowded, hazy, bar........
Darcy H Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 I always enjoy seeing Hubert kicking butt, and J.J. Cale is a treat, but one of my favourite guitarists on the planet is Buddy Guy. I actually watched that again last night. www.myspace.com/darcyhoover

I thought Mayer's performance was good--stage presence not so much considering the audience. Vince Gill was my favorite--no wonder he scored Amy Grant! mdrs Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Vince Gill pretty much wiped everyone else off the stage!! Vince is an amazing player, singer, and writer. And, his beer belly makes me feel better about myself! Actually, I enjoyed Carlos and Clapton....Carlos looked like he really enjoyed playing with Eric. That lefty was Doyle Brahmall II(his dad played in Double Trouble), and he is backwards, and upside down (I think), and GREAT! He's currently touring in Clapton's band, along with Derek Trucks. http://www.whereseric.com/tour/eric-clapton-tour-calendar-2006-2007.html Worse part of the Crossroads DVD is the fact that they did not put any of Jeff Beck's performance on the DVD. That's a crime....... Don Don "There once was a note, Pure and Easy.
