King Kamehameha Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I LOVE SUMMER TOO My first of two big gig days is tomorrow. I'm performing with 3 different bands, some original material, some not. We're doing a lot of songs, off the top of my head-Newborn by Muse, Gel by Collective Soul (which I'm singing! yay!), Heroes by David Bowie, Hung Up by Madonna, White Wedding by Billy Idol...the list goes on. Oh yeah, and I love summer because at the end, after camp, I'm going surfing! Guitar Geezer Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 SO Bass, are you at one of those Rock n Roll camps? Lynn G
fantasticsound Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Yes! But for different reasons. I pick up my daughter from camp at the JCC at least twice weekly. With the extra hours of sun I can arrive at 6pm and take a leisurely dip in the pool for an hour and still leave long before the pool closes. Last night it was absolutely perfect! It was steamy hot while I was in AC at work, but by the time I arrived the sun was hidden by a cloud bank, so the breeze was actually cool to wet skin and the pool felt like a luke-warm bath. Add to that most people had left already and a great water-basketball setup and I was in heaven. Swimming with my daughter is the icing on the cake. She's been a "fish" since her 4th birthday. It's easiest to find me on Facebook. Neil Bergman Soundclick fntstcsnd
miroslav Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Well...I can dig a few things about the summer... ...but forget the heat! Unless I'm going to spend the day at the beach or poolside...anything over 80 degrees is just too uncomfortable for me. Heck...you take a shower, get dressed...and then you do even the smallest amount of physical activity and you are all sticky and sweaty...and that's just not comfortable. I would be all smiles if the thermometer never cracked 75 degrees in the summer. You could still do a lot of summer time activities without that oppressive heat and humidity. Thank god for air conditioning! miroslav - miroslavmusic.com "Just because it happened to you, it doesn't mean it's important."
Tedster Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I've got a frickin' outdoor gig this afternoon. Hoping all goes swell. One of the songs on my list is "A hundred and ten in the shade" by John Fogerty. Quite appropriate. "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"
King Kamehameha Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 SO Bass, are you at one of those Rock n Roll camps? I go to a creative arts program. Wish me luck, cause I'm gonna be performing outside for 2 hours tomorrow right in the middle of the day when the sun is the hottest. I've only ever done a half hour before and didn't have any water...I felt like I was gonna die. This time I'll bring something to drink. LPCustom Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 The only good thing for me about this summer is I don't have to get out and work in the yard. That's hard to do with a cast on your arm and your leg (nearly impossible actually). But I don't mind. Well, not until the Percodan wears off. Born on the Bayou
skipclone 1 Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 I hate humidity. But I love camping, close to nature and a cooler (in either order). Same old surprises, brand new cliches- Skipsounds on Soundclick: www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandid=602491
Bejeeber Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 I have to say that since moving here, summer = absolute paradise. This summer has been typical so far as the vast majority of days are in the 70's, sunshine, extreme pleasantness and beauty. OK the winters could be better though. Just a pinch between the geek and chum
