Hardtail Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Maybe put some links on some good books to get. I'm looking for one myself. 1.) It doesn't have to be specific for guitar. In fact, it doesn't have to be specific to any instrument. I'm just looking for a good theory book. 2.) I know quite a bit already so I'm looking for something that has advanced info. It's ok if it starts with the basics but it has to go well beyond that for it to be useful for me. 3.) If it really gets into harmony, all the better. I'm sure a few good people here will give me some suggestions. After a few are compiled, maybe they can be added to the Theory Thread. Thanks.

caprae Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Theory, music, one each. Raise your children and spoil your grandchildren. Spoil your children and raise your grandchildren.
Squ Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 I wasn't saying it wasn't... But if you want to learn more theory because you want to voice lead an orchestra, perhaps you might recommend a different book than if you just wanted to learn more chord progression tricks to write songs with.
