pollock Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 Okay, this is wayyy OT, but I'm curious how guitar players eat steak on avg...... my band: http://www.blujavu.com www.myspace.com/blujavu
Hardtail Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 Medium Rare. I like the baked potato with sour cream but well... I have to be conservative with the sour cream so I usually put cottage cheese on it. Sounds gross but it's not too bad.
Tedster Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 With a knife and fork, usually... "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"
henrysb3 Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 My friend, Maynard G. Krebs, likes to eat his potato baked, but avoids the sour cream, as it clogs his bong. He not busy being born Is busy dyin'. ...Bob Dylan

revolead Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 Am I the only one who likes there steak medium? Shut up and play.
miroslav Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 I use my mouth. miroslav - miroslavmusic.com "Just because it happened to you, it doesn't mean it's important."
Justus A. Picker Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 On the rare side of medium-rare with a nice crisp black char on the outside. Potato, baked, twice-baked, mashed or home fries. Doesn't matter, I like potatoes just about any way they can be prepared. http://www.smokedsalmonband.com/exile/exile1.jpg
Big Red 67 Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 Medium rare. Potato salad, even though I like 'em with sour cream allot too. Big Red's Ride Blog
S. Yeti Bigfoot, Esq. Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 Just drag the cow out there and knock it in the head with something...I'll start eating wherever I'm least likely to get kicked. I like it just seared on the outside and still cool on the inside. When I cook my own steak, I heat the grill up just as hot as I can get it and cook the steak for one minute on each side if it's a good, thick steak. Less than that if it's less than 1 inch thick. Baked potatoes with butter, sour cream and chives. "And so I definitely, when I have a daughter, I have a lot of good advice for her." ~Paris Hilton BWAAAHAAAHAAHAAA!!!
picker Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 My steakhouse motto is "pink, not bloody". And I love baked potato with sour cream, but keep the chives. Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.
madgrinder7 Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 Super-hot grill... approx three minutes per side depending on thickness. Black on the outside and red in the middle. It's official... I'm boned.

LPCustom Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Originally posted by revolead: Am I the only one who likes there steak medium? Nope, you're not alone, there. My wife likes it crispy (as in burnt). My mom, on the other hand, likes it best if you just wave the steak over the grill for a few seconds to get it warm -- nearly raw. I used to like mine rare. But now I like it medium. And, yes, I use a knife and fork, too. I like my potatoes with sour cream or butter or both. But I prefer sour cream (and some bacon bits, please). Born on the Bayou
Guitarzan Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 my wife likes her steak to look like it was hit by a nuke. i like mine to look like it was hit by a car. you guys are making me hungry ..no not YOU, the STEAK. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=193274 rock it, i will

Bbach1 Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Are you talking about cow steaks? Cow steaks I like medium. Deer steaks have to be marinated for a few hours and are better baked with an apple than grilled. Then theres dog steaks. Never let your dog run loose in ND. bbach Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder.

Tone Taster Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 OK, at home i cook it exactly medium At restaurants, they pump stuff out of the kitchen in a rush and always cook it 1 level under from what you ordered (unless it is a 5 star). So if I want a medium steak at a restaurant, I order it medium well
Dr. Ellwood Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Medium well, the XYL here says you shouldn't eat anything that has a face! http://www.thestringnetwork.com
LeftyBlues Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 ...like to wash it all down with a nice cold (but not in a frozen mug!) Yuengling! Maybe a side of blue cheese grits if I'm really living right. I was born at night but I wasn't born last night...

I do marinate it, but I cook it real rare. I actually eat a whole lot more venison than beef. My family will go through 7 or 8 deer a year...I usually kill about 9 or 10 because I have a grandson that is allergic to the 21st century...the only red meat he can eat is venison, so I load my daughter up with a couple for him. Since I do all my own butchering and all, it's no big thing. If you eat spaghetti or chili or lasagna or stew or hamburgers or tacos or anything that uses ground meat at my house, you are eating venison. TimEm Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Rare, rare, rare.... Damn, now I'm hungry... Go that way really fast. If something gets in your way, turn.

Hardtail Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 I haven't had venison in ages. I used to eat it all the time.
