Ibanez Tube King- with a new tube

I had been pretty down on my Tube King(a tube overdrive/distortion pedal) after having dug it for a long time, then read on some threads that guys had stuck different tubes in them and had brought them new life. I decided to go get a nice tube and try it. I bought an old Sylvania Jan tube and put it in and "holy smokes" the thing just roars. It has a pretty loud hum now though, especially when I kick my wah on before it. Has anyone else had this experience? Does anyone know of any mods to this pedal? I have looked on some of the mod sites for pedals and don't see anything for tube overdrive/distotions.
