d.r.e.a.m.i.s.t Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 I have a guitar I left at my home country. Now I'm going to have a short visit to my home country and I want to bring the guitar back with me. So I guess I need a hard-shell flight case for that. The problem is, I don't have the guitar with me, so I don't know how to choose a case that will fit my guitar. I think I won't have enough time on my visit to buy a case there, so I have to buy it here, without the guitar to match with. My guitar is the long discontinued Applause AE-32 acoustic-electric guitar. It has a deep-bowl Ovation-style alloy back. The information about it that I could dig so far is from the manufacturer's web site: http://www.applauseguitars.com/AE32.cfm I have no idea how I could pick a right case for it. Do you have any tips or suggestions? Thank you very much. ...beginner struggling to become a better beginner...
miroslav Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 Why not contact Ovation and ask them which size case would work for that model? Or...have someone measure your guitar's length, depth and width at the widest part...and then just find a case with those dimensions. There are a lot of generic cases designed to fit more than one guitar...you just need to know the mesuarments. miroslav - miroslavmusic.com "Just because it happened to you, it doesn't mean it's important."
Gruupi Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 Unfortunately the case is probably going to cost more than the guitar is worth. But if that guitar is personal to you and you love the way it plays and sounds, then Miroslavs suggestion is the way to go. Sauntman Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 This case should work, but I am not sure how much you are willing to spend: http://www.americanmusical.com/item.aspx?i=OVA%208210&src=D0407FG0HAMS0000&cm_mmc=Froogle-_-SearchEngine-_-Feed-_-OVA%208210#
