Pinch harmonics to scream, practice to move faster :/ I suck at explaining things, but for a pinch harmonic, as you're picking a string, strike it in such a way that your finger, or part of your hand is hitting it at the same time. It's often described as a flicking, or pulling motion. Move your finger up on the pick and flick up so that your thumb and pick are flicking the string at the same-ish time and eventually you'll start hearing that scream. From there you simply refine.

Thanx for all the help guys anybody ever seen eric johnson play?
Live? No. In movies? Hundreds of times. I have his DVD of Austin City Limits (filmed in 1988), and it is sweet. The man is a god when it comes to pure technique and mastery of his instrument. His song-writing ability and emotion is debatable, but I love it all. Is there a reason you ask?
Shut up and play.

Hi Jason, the way I get the Billy Gibbons/Zakk Wylde pinch harmonics is to 'choke up' on the pick. Leave just a little of the tip exposed, then as you pick the string, let your thumb hit the string practically simultaneously. Then as you get this down, you can move your picking hand

around(closer to bridge, then neck) while still

fretting the same note, same string, and then all the different harmonic

pitches will sound accordingly. This should put you in "La Grange" heaven.
