A String Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 Welcome to the forum Munchies! I don't know enough about Flying V's to help you out here. However, there are several Flying V fanatics here and, once they log in, I'm sure they'll be happy to help you out. Craig Stringnetwork on Facebook String Network Forum My Music
superdave Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 Has anybody seen the bridge? I aint seen the bridge. Where's that confounded bridge? What song did those lyrics come from? Hahahaha I know which one. I'm sorry but I had to do that.
Guitar Geezer Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 They are NOT cheap and I would suggest having a GOOD Luthier (repairman) do the switch) Lynn G
fantasticsound Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 I would suggest you call 1-800-4GIBSON and ask customer support to list your options from Gibson. It may not be available and I don't know if even the short Maestro will fit a Flying V without major alteration. It's easiest to find me on Facebook. Neil Bergman Soundclick fntstcsnd
Guitar Geezer Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 http://www.bananas.com/multimedia/articles/MediumImage/144_md.jpg It's a Custom Shop thing for sure. Lynn G
Munchies Posted June 26, 2006 Author Posted June 26, 2006 thats the only reason i wouldn't do it , custo shop costs too much but thank you all for the advice. i don't give a damn
picker Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 I wouldn't do it. They are a pain to use and keep the guitar in tune, and they don't work all that well as far as tremolos go. If you want to put a term on a V, get a Stetsbar Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.
Munchies Posted June 26, 2006 Author Posted June 26, 2006 i think i'll just get a strat, way easier to work with. i don't give a damn
mdrs Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Good point, Munchies!! Hey Picker...have you used one of those Stetsbar trems? They look cool. How come I never saw one before?? Bluesape Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Picker and I have V's, and Beejeber, we think, is a closet V fanatic, but he'll deny it! Never a DUH! moment! Well, almost never. OK, OK! Sometimes never!
Munchies Posted June 27, 2006 Author Posted June 27, 2006 but that hendrix flying v does look good, even tho it costs $8,000 i don't give a damn
Bluesape Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 V's should be hard tails! But Lonnie Mack might disagree. Never a DUH! moment! Well, almost never. OK, OK! Sometimes never!
Guitarzan Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 what about Jackson? they have V's with floyd rose trems. that way you can stay in tune.ESP makes some nice V's as well. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=193274 rock it, i will
