souvenir Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 I'm hoping that you guys can suggest a guitar tab for me... I want something from a band who play in standard tuning or drop D (I don't like downtuning). If you guys can suggest some tab books then that'd be great. My skill level is intermediate.... I don't like anything too difficult with lots of improvised solos that are very hard to replicate rhythmically. Something that would improve my playing but still not be too difficult!
Gruupi Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 Not trying to be a smartass, but pick your favorite song and look for the music/tab. I'm sure there are lots of compilation books out there with a variety of songs also, just look and find one that has several tunes you would like to learn. souvenir Posted June 26, 2006 Author Posted June 26, 2006 Thanks, Gruupi. Although I don't always like just learning my favourite songs. I prefer to try and learn songs that may not be my favourite but it's good to be able to play then as a learning experience. I have the Guitar Tab White pages Vols 1 and 2, which are good books. Any ideas of cool albums with good guitar playing that is in standard tuning and has a tab book available for it?
Gruupi Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 I try to learn most of my stuff by ear, but if I come across a magazine with some tab of something I want to play, I'll buy it. Some things are just to complicated to try and learn by ear for me. I like to have the music and tab together though, tab alone is hard for me to follow. I also can't really learn a piece by written alone, I have to hear it.
