Griffinator Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 Couldn't believe it, really. My g/f picked up this old Ibeenhad Tube Screamer Classic pedal at a yard sale for $5. I've used a ton of pedals in my life, very few with any great deal of luck. Lo and behold, I plugged it into this beat up old Peavey Stereo Chorus 212 I had laying around the house, cut the saturation wayyyy back on the distortion channel, opened up the Screamer and WOW - I've never heard a pedal distortion sound so good. I've messed around quite a few Screamers before, and none of them sounded like this. I'm almost wondering if there isn't something wrong with it! A bunch of loud, obnoxious music I USED to make with friends.
Sleaze_Disease Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 I wish I was that lucky!! That's really cool that stuff like that can be found for cheap. Also, your gf sounds like a keeper if she can find you stuff like that!!! Lyrics-wasted time between solos.
Griffinator Posted June 28, 2006 Author Posted June 28, 2006 My gf used to be a top-shelf guitarist - she played lead in the original lineup of the NJ thrash band Northwinds... until a really terrible car wreck left her virtually deaf in one ear. She still plays occasionally now, but... A bunch of loud, obnoxious music I USED to make with friends.
Trucks Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Ive heard about some screamers being modded for optimum sound.... Open her up and take a peak. Soundclick Myspace
