Hardtail Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Just finished doing chest, tris, and shoulders and just tried to play the guitar. It's just not happening as I seem to be getting this spasm type vibrato going on. I guess I'll wait an hour.
Gruupi Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Lol, thats why I quit working out, it makes me tired and shakey and messes with my guitar playing. Not really, I just been to lazy to work out. Tedster Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Yeah, just wait a bit. You'll do fine. You do shoulders on the same day as chest and triceps, huh? "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"

If I do them the next day with back and biceps, the tris are sore and will get overworked when doing military presses. My tris need to re-coup and working them the next day is counter-productive. I only have a 3 day split and one of those is leg work. After a leg workout, I've no energy to do anything let alone shoulders. So, I do it how I do it.
Bbach1 Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Honestly and truthfully with no sarcasm intended, my idea of working out is a good cigar and a drink of some sort. It doesn't affect my playing much, depending on the drink and how much I consume. bbach Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder.

Bluesape Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 I do the forklift - it doesn't affect my playing. Never a DUH! moment! Well, almost never. OK, OK! Sometimes never!

I don't hit my legs quite as hard...and do legs and shoulders on the same day. I can't do too vigorous a leg workout. My knees are bad (especially my right knee after surgery a couple years ago). Can only do partial squats...but it's better than nothing I guess. Sucks getting old. "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"
Hardtail Posted June 24, 2006 Author Posted June 24, 2006 You're working out Tedster. That's cool enough.
Ricardo. Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 You should get a pretty strong attack going after a workout, no?

Pappy P Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 If you want to be cut, you need to try Keith Richards work out. But stay out of Trees. Guitarist shouldn't have to be buff. Leave the buff look to the vocalist. Guitars are supposed to be ear candy. www.birdblues.com My Stuff On Sound Click
Gruupi Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 I remember lifting weights 10-15 years ago sure made loading in and out after gigs more bearable. But its hard to do anything for 3 hours after a good workout. I really need to get back into it. I still exersize but weight training is just so painfull, and I'm a wimp.
