souvenir Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 Any of you guys heard Philip Sayce? http://www.philipsayce.com/ His playing is very reminiscent of SRV and Hendrix. I think that he played with Melissa Etheridge too as I saw a video of him playing with her. His songs remind me of Stevie Salas and Lenny Kravitz a little. He's pretty cool though, have a listen to see what you think.

Bluesape Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 Phil's a great player. One of my drummer buddies used to play with him. He hosted a jam one night in Richmond Hill, Ontario - 'bout 3 or so years back before he took up with Melissa Etheridge. Scary chops, really quick, and brutally loud! After my spot, he came over and we were introduced by our mutual friend, and we yakked a bit. It would have been great to trade licks with him, but there wasn't time - the bar was full of jammers, but I'll jump at the chance if it comes around again. We really liked each other's style. He also had no rock star pretensions - great guy to hang out with. Never a DUH! moment! Well, almost never. OK, OK! Sometimes never!
