Matt Logan Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 Ive been atempting to strum for about a year now with a prety basic guitar,im determined to take this more serious so im trying to set aside £300 for a new guitar and hopefully have lessons, what guitars to u all reckon, remember im a complete amateur. I really want to play like Blink 182, Bowling For Soup, Razorlight, The Editors and a couple of old clasics like The Beatles to show off after a couple of months i want a decent amp as well, probably about £200? All sugestions and links welcome
Gruupi Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 This question gets asked alot here. The consenses is you can't go wrong with a Fender Squire as a starter guitar. Its so much better than what most of us old guys started on. It is good enough to play at a professional level. At that point it just becomes a matter of personal preference but you can play just about anything on the Fender Squire Strat. I think they also make a Fat Strat which has a humbucker bridge pickup, which allows you to get some of the heavier sounds. I think Fender makes starter kits that will get you a guitar and a amp for a reasonable price. I don't no converting pounds to dollars but the Guitar/ Amp starter paks are under $300 total.
