At one point, I decided maybe I could get one that way, and I entered at least fifty contests for guitar stuff in the span of under a week. All I got was a totally overloaded spam account. Even if I did win something I'll probably never know now...

Me, too.

Do you know a local keyboard player named Jeff Lisenby, Mudcat? I used to work with him a lot on Opryland Productions gigs. About 6 years ago I was perusing the Sweetwater winners list when I found his name among the strangers. He'd won a weekly or monthly giveaway. Must've been 1999 or 2000.

BTW - I play Powerball most every week. $1 isn't going to break me and it makes me eligible. Eventually "lighting" strikes somewhere because they keep having multi-million dollar winners. It will likely never be me, but it will certainly not be me if I don't play. ;)

Besides, I just found out yesterday you can win other sums for as few as one match (the powerball). I was particularly lucky this past weekend, matching three regular numbers. It was worth $7. So I paid for the next 7 games I play. ;) Before yesterday I was under the impression that there was only one way to win other than the jackpot. I've probably thrown away $3 here and there for previous matches of the powerball or two numbers plus powerball, etc. :freak:

Jeff's name is familiar but I don't know him personally. Nice to know that a verifiably real person actually won one of those Sweetwater contests.

BTW - Nice beard Neil! :thu: I see you've been working on it. :D

Why, yes I have! I've never had a long beard, so I'm giving it a shot. It doesn't hurt I've been attending services at the Shul. There are several members with beards that make mine look like a 5 o'clock shadow in comparison. :D
