pollock Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Do ever enter those "win a stratocaster" or "weekly gear giveaway" things? I do. I never win. Who does win them anyway? Do they make up names and put them on some kind of crazy "winners list" ? my band: http://www.blujavu.com www.myspace.com/blujavu

Ricardo. Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 At one point, I decided maybe I could get one that way, and I entered at least fifty contests for guitar stuff in the span of under a week. All I got was a totally overloaded spam account. Even if I did win something I'll probably never know now...
Pappy P Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 I never win either. Don't feel bad. www.birdblues.com My Stuff On Sound Click
Danzilla Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 I won a Bass Player Mag giveaway last year! I THINK I'm a real person... my kids don't think that, though. "Am I enough of a freak to be worth paying to see?"- Separated Out (Marillion) NEW band Old band

Ditto, and I shall continue to enter until I do win. Me, too. Do you know a local keyboard player named Jeff Lisenby, Mudcat? I used to work with him a lot on Opryland Productions gigs. About 6 years ago I was perusing the Sweetwater winners list when I found his name among the strangers. He'd won a weekly or monthly giveaway. Must've been 1999 or 2000. It's easiest to find me on Facebook. Neil Bergman Soundclick fntstcsnd
fantasticsound Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 BTW - I play Powerball most every week. $1 isn't going to break me and it makes me eligible. Eventually "lighting" strikes somewhere because they keep having multi-million dollar winners. It will likely never be me, but it will certainly not be me if I don't play. Besides, I just found out yesterday you can win other sums for as few as one match (the powerball). I was particularly lucky this past weekend, matching three regular numbers. It was worth $7. So I paid for the next 7 games I play. Before yesterday I was under the impression that there was only one way to win other than the jackpot. I've probably thrown away $3 here and there for previous matches of the powerball or two numbers plus powerball, etc. It's easiest to find me on Facebook. Neil Bergman Soundclick fntstcsnd

Nice to know that a verifiably real person actually won one of those Sweetwater contests. BTW - Nice beard Neil! I see you've been working on it. Mudcat's music on Soundclick "Work hard. Rock hard. I've never had a long beard, so I'm giving it a shot. It doesn't hurt I've been attending services at the Shul. There are several members with beards that make mine look like a 5 o'clock shadow in comparison. It's easiest to find me on Facebook. Neil Bergman Soundclick fntstcsnd
