dualband Posted June 10, 2006 Share Posted June 10, 2006 Hi everyone. Does anybody know if there's a difference between the 2005 and 2006 version of this amp? I heard that the newer version does not need anymore of the mods for getting rid of the dreaded hum. Is this true? If so, how can you ID the newer version? Thanks. LPCustom Posted June 10, 2006 Share Posted June 10, 2006 The newest versions incorporate the fixes that went into the VJ heads. Before that there were several different versions, too. I have an older one that only has a single cutout in the back. The newer ones have two cutouts in the back to help with cooling the tubes. Apparently there are a few different PCB designs out there, too. The two that I had (I gave one to my nephew) had different revisions of the PCB.
