You only need a newer version of RealPlayer to watch the stream. hans-jürgen Posted June 2, 2006 Author Share Posted June 2, 2006 No, I'm too far away (Hamburg) and don't even have RealPlayer installed on my ancient PC, so I can't see the live stream myself. But I just learned that MTV will broadcast some bands live: today Korn, tomorrow Metallica and on Sunday several bands in a row. Next weekend the WDR will show two long "Best of" summaries, too. Concerning Paul Weller I'm mostly interested in his mid '70s Marshall combo sound, because I heard good things about it, and have an old Plexi combo myself. The Big G Posted June 2, 2006 Share Posted June 2, 2006 hans yes he has a great sound, I saw him recently play a small venue in the Uk and he played with a fender twin, but it was small venue as I say, but his sound is fab, it can very bitting but always good. Unlucky on the gig shame you will miss it but as you say the best of will be on soon. I havent played the old Plexi but many on the forum swear by them. I have a old Fender twin reverb, I love it. hans-jürgen Posted June 2, 2006 Author Share Posted June 2, 2006 I've read that Paul Weller would use a "Lead & Bass" Marshall combo with checkerboard grille cloth, and last year he did a TV show for the Rockpalast in Cologne with this amp, but I missed that one, too. Anyhow, I think it will be fun to watch all these groups playing an open air live festival for the whole weekend. Hopefully they will not have too much rain like last year...
