Note that the recently introduced (in the last few years, anyway) Fender polishing products were produced in conjunction with Meguiar's...

Caevan,

Are they similar chemically?

I've never heard of using an automotive product to polish a guitar.

When my new guitar arrives, I may have this guy do a top-notch polish job for me just to see what it looks like (or if I feel sqeemish about using my new axe.. I'll have him show me one of his).

I've been using car polish on my guitars (sparingly) since the 60s. There were no specialist products available to me back then.

It gives a harder finish than furniture polish & is less prone to fingerprints.

Yeah, like I said, maybe I'll have this guy buff up my guitar to show me what this looks like. I bet the #7 with his buffer will make my white guitar glow.

He's got some good blogs there if you read the other stuff. One of the things he mentioned is not to get suckered into extended warranties. When I ordered my axe, that was the first thing that was asked of me... I declined.

If the guitar goes bad... I'll talk to Fender.
