Kramer Ferrington III.
My boss has just asked me about a Gibson he's seen recently. It's a semiacoustic, or possibly a hollowbody, with three pickups and a whammy. Apparently from the 1950s. Any idea what the heck he's talking about? Bluesape
Probably a Switchmaster - fully hollow, 3 'buckers, lotsa switches, rosewood board - I'm pretty sure there is an epiphone version out now. Never a DUH! moment! Well, almost never. OK, OK! Sometimes never!

That LOOKS right. He mentioned the fret markers were single blocks of mother of pearl, not dots. I'll google up some pictures for him when he returns tomorrow. Thanks, Reif! Kramer Ferrington III.
Well, I showed my boss this thread today and he said that it LOOKED like the guitar he had seen but: a) the one he saw looked thinner b) he remembers it having some more knobs on one of the bouts. c) It had an "accelerator", by which he meant a whammy bar. I think I'll bring him one of my Tony Bacon books and let him go for it. Band MySpace My snazzy t-shirt empire
The Geoff
Some of the old Harmonys had multi pups & switches, and I'm sure there was a 'knobbly' Guild too? G. No, no... he's dead set it was a Gibson. He'll ask his mate what model Gibson it is and put me out of my misery.
