First off Hello everyone.I'm usually hanging out on the bass forum.Today a friend gave me a Marshall combo amp. It's a jcm900 master gain mkill,50 watt 2x12 combo.I really know nothing about this amp.Is it a good amp?Does anyone know where I could get a manual for it with a scematic possibly? It has an ohm selector on the back that I don't understand. One side is 8 ohms and the other says 4(16) ohms. What would my options be if I wanted to run an extension cab with or without the 2x12's that it has in it.Also it has hi/lo mode switch.Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks~~Jay

Hey there.

i wish my friends just gave me amps.

I think this is the model-

theres some customer reviews about it. GOt a pretty good score and people seem to be happy with it so it cant be too bad.

I was thinkin that maybe the ohm switch IS for an extension, and you can select the correct output for the Ohms of the cab.

For the hi/lo...a boost maybe? i have no idea...

A JCM900 50 Watt 2x12 combo for FREE??? Very nice. The JCM900 series appeared in 1990.

The hi/lo switch will switch the amp into 25 watt mode.

Here are some links to the Marshall website and others...
