Caevan O’Shite
Yhup, Gruhn is the guy who (literally) wrote the book on guitar values and identification. If it's gear other than guitars, you may want to seek out Craig Anderton (he used to moderate some forums here, and wrote extensively for Guitar Player magazine for years, amongst other related endeavors and involvments) over at the newly revamped Harmony Central Forums; I believe his forum there is called The SSS Forum ("Stage, Sound, and Studio", or the like). janalon
The guys over at aNaLoGmAn web page and forum know a tremendous deal about rare and vintage effects. I also believe they wrote a book to document them as well. Search for them on the web. http://www.wordsareworlds.net
