We're shipping our Martech MSS-01 direct box.

 

Lee Sklar has already recorded two albums using this for his bass (Barefoot Servants and B. B. King). Al Schmitt has used it on Diana Krall's new Christmas album and a few others. It has been used on an upcoming guitar sample-disc acquisition session, and the renowned engineer (to be named later) chose it from a selection of every (and I do mean every) high-end DI.

 

Whether you are using it to record guitar or bass for further processing, balancing a guitar output for more stable operation with effects, recording the outputs of amp modelers, effects units, or guitar synths, etc., the MSS-01 will capture the sound with the least coloration, distortion, and noise.

I have dusted, shined, and powered up my Vox Berkeley II Super Reverb Twin. I've owned this since it was about 5 years old- original Bulldogs, stand and covers (but no footswitch)

 

My immediate needs are low-level practice and recording. As is, with either the original tubes (which get thermal and crap out randomly) or the Sylvanias c. 1975, 17 watts is too loud!

 

Can you steer me in the direction of tubes which might break up sweetly at a little lower level?
