  1. I also want to say that it would be somewhat counter productive for them to allow people to use the software without the keyboard... then nobody would go spend 4k on the board. Right? or not near as many for sure. Then what happens if you OWNED the keyboard, but then sold it. Would you still have the right to the software or would that move to the next person?
  2. So what technically would happen if you didn't need have the hardware? I ask because I've been having trouble getting Logic (or any DAW) to authorize the plugin. I don't have my Montage connected to the computer though. I thought the plugin was standalone (hence all the GBs of data (I assumed samples, etc) that come with it. But maybe if I connected it via USB, it would authorize. I also want to add that Steinberg authorization manager is saying that it's activated... super weird.
  3. The motifs are... So I'd bet the montage may be considered one by them as well. I could be wrong though... (See pic) BUT The Nord Stage series definitely falls into this category.
  4. I got you. Don't fret. Help is on the way. Lol. Just keep asking questions like this so I can see what people are needing to know. πŸ’ͺ🏾πŸ’ͺ🏾πŸ’ͺ🏾
  5. I have a guitar one coming this weekend. Let me know if you hear the same thing in mine.
  6. Thanks for sharing. What do you mean when you say "properly tuned into sounding inside"?
  7. This is completely wrong. I made a short to make a short. This is not made up. It really happened as shown in the video. It's not a controversy either. I only posted it because I thought it was kinda cool and I hadn't ever seen it happen before. The only reason it became an issue or a "controversy" as you call it was because people couldn't get it to replicate on their keyboard and others had no idea what was going on either. Then to add on top of that... I called Yamaha support and their tech support agent, had no idea that the keyboard did it. He had to get off the phone with me and email higher tier support to get an answer. .... I have nothing to gain by posting a single short on YouTube... And then posting it here as a reference when asking a question. You should think through your comments more before you make such silly remarks. It's not fair to the person you are judging and it can cause people to misjudge you as a decision maker. And that's not fair to you... since I'm sure you are a nice guyπŸ˜‰
  8. Yeah Yamaha has confirmed that it's working as intended. As well versed as I am with Kronos, I never owned a Kronos 2. So I didn't know that until the last few weeks. But good to know now!
  9. Now, I for sure missed that last part about after the auto power off has been carried out that we can use a standby/on switch to restore the power. That's pretty nice.
  10. Wow.... I didn't realize stuff like this happened here on this forum. YIKES. Sorry, if my question offended you. Oh never mind, based on the response, you didn't read the question. lol. Have a good day sir!!!
  11. Hey guys.... I talked to a Yamaha Customer Support rep today and I sent them a link to my video. They didn't think it was supposed to behave the way mine is. But they escalated it to get the answer... This is the email that I got back. It's working properly. So for the guys who don't experience this... I'm not sure what to say now.
  12. I turned it off completely. But I don't want to have to make work arounds for a keyboard that is less than 2 weeks old. IF it's not supposed to flip. Hope that makes sense.
  13. It doesn't do it when auto off is turned off. The switch flip (by itself) is the problem. Not the feature. Did anyone actually look at the video? 🫣
  14. Guys, the auto off is not the issue. I know and understand what annauto off function is. But I'm my experience it's been a "soft" off... Vs the switch manually flipping on its own. It doesn't do it when I turn the feature off. I simply wanted to know if ANY ONE ELSE HAD A MONTAGE M THAT WAS DOING THE SAME THING. And I still haven't found a single person who's Montage does this. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ My Yamaha rep said it is supposed to do it. But other people who set the auto shut off aren't experiencing it. Crazy. But .... It is what it is.
  15. I thought it was stated that it's a completely different keybed from the ones being used for their 88 models before. FWIW, the ES8, XS8, XF8, Montage 8 keybed all use the same part number from Yamaha... The M8X, won't be able to do that (I'd guess). Could be wrong though.
  16. Yeah the rep said it's supposed to do it. I'm definitely going to double check though. Just wanted to see what the keyboard community had to say before I made a big (or medium) deal about it.
  17. Well some people have reported that they went and changed their setting and sat and waited and it never shut off. I found that extremely odd.
  18. Definitely. My rep from Yamaha says it's supposed to happen. But I'm still thinking, why doesn't any one else's board do it then. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  19. Right. I originally posted this in Halloween, and someone told me my keyboard was haunted. Lol .- Yamahaunted sounds funny. πŸ˜‚ You wouldn't think the spring being broken would make it happen in timing with the auto shut off timer though. Right?
  20. Thanks for your feedback. As stated, I just want to make sure it's SUPPOSED to do it. Turning off the feature doesn't fix anything if it's not functioning properly. Lol. You think I'm looking for band aids on purchase like this? FWIW, the switch definitely feels different after the autoshutoff. Just wanted to see if other people had the same experience. Hadn't had one response saying their keyboard did the same thing. πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈπŸ«£
  21. Oh yeah, the timing was in line with the auto shut off setting. But still I wonder why no one else has experienced the same thing I did. Lol. Or at least no one has responded that they have.
  22. I expected some people to say... Oh yeah, mine she's that too. And then we laugh it off and move on. But that's just hasn't happened yet... I find it a bit awkward.
  23. Ok guys, so what started as a funny video about what I thought could be a new feature, is now starting to get a little bothersome. Nobody else seems to be able to get their keyboard to do this. There is an auto shut off feature in the Yamaha Montage M series. (I know it's been in their past boards too)...but this one is different. The power switch automatically flips from on to off. Like a ghost does itπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. I've not found one person that's been able to replicate it on their keyboard. So now, I'm wondering if something is physically wrong with the switch. Please check out this extremely "short" video and let me know what you think. Thanks!
  24. Of course.... Me too 😁 But what's the most difference that you'd pay is they weren't the same price?
