  1. I dont think it has been posted before, here are some very good CK61 demos (4 videos in total, including an "All 363 Sounds" video and a "first impressions" with english subs)
  2. found a tutorial videos playlist https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLS-Ia4lCojty-uF6apNwkAZkcEwbVt4jQ (through FAQ section https://europe.yamaha.com/en/products/music_production/stagekeyboards/ck/faq.html )
  3. I have put more deails here https://forums.musicplayer.com/topic/178876-gsi-vb3m-for-android/?do=findComment&comment=2911141 but the issue is: - My Yamaha P121 transmits audio over USB, but when connecting and andoird device (I have made tests with 2 phones Samsung A52S 5G and Xiaomi Redmi 10S both running android 12), after some minutes (usually 5-10) audio stops - I have tested VB3m and some other app (mini piano lite) but also issue happens even in simple music playing (spotify) via the phone and listening through piano's speakers Note that I have adjusted screen on to 10 mins so nothing to do with this I have no interruptions when connecting the piano with WIndows PC Has anyone tested something similar with Yamaha P121 or any other Yamaha piano supporting USB Audio?
  4. yes, you are correct, problem is on the Yamaha P121 side. For some reason audio via USB does not work as expected with android phones, I will post in another thread for this
  5. An update about this: After doing various tests and talking with Guido, the outcome is that the issue has nothing to do with Vbm3m. A summary: - What I wanted is to play my Yamaha P121 (that transmits Audio via USB) connected to my phone (running Vbm3m) and hear the sound through piano's speakers (or headphone out) - While doing this, it was fine in the beginning but sound would stop coming out from Piano speakers after some minutes (5 to 10 mins). A restart in the app would temporarily fix this. - My phone is Samsung A52s 5G (Android 12) I did lots of tests: - Without being connected to the piano, Vbm3m runs without any issues for longer duration. - I used another android app (mini piano lite) and I had the same issue again... sound would stop after some minutes. - With Vb3m, if I use phone's headphones out (instead of getting sound out of piano's speakers, ) no issues even after 20 minutes. I guess that if I use phone's headphones out, no sound is sent to the piano via USB - And a final test: I just tried simple sound reproduction from my phone (spotify) connected to my Yamaha P121 via USB (sound coming from piano speakers). After some minutes sound just stops... I did same test with another android phone (Xiaomi ) with same same results! - I have no similar issues when playing music from my Windows PC (using P121 as sound interface) and listening through piano's speakers. Conclusion: - the issue is in the communcation between android phones and my Yamaha P121 (I have tried 2 phones) - this is what Guido said first... - I don't know what will happen if a use an apple device - don't have any I guess I need to ask this in another thread but I am curious if anybody else has similar issues with P121 or any other Yamaha piano... Its a shame that I cannot use Vbm3 the way I wanted (don't want to use phone's headphone out) ... I could't imagine that I would have such an issue...
  6. thanks for the suggestion, maybe I will try one app but it doesn't make much sense since the issue still persists even if the screen is on... I have tried some more up to now with no success... - From Battery -> Background usage limits -> I added Vbm3m to "never sleeping apps" --I went to App info for Vbm3m and set -> Battery -> Unrestricted By the way the phone runs android 12 (and One UI 4.1)
  7. Well I bought it today for playing around with my Yamaha P121 (it has USB Audio, so I just used an OTG cable) I installed it on my android phone (Samsung A52s 5G). I started to play around, sounds great for me (no high expectations anyway), not noticeable latency, everything fine BUT: After some minutes sound stops... it seems that app needs restarting (if I open it again, sound is back on and it works again) - I first checked "Enable background Audio" - it works as expected, when screen goes off, app still works. But after some minutes (5-10) regardless if I am playing or not, sounds is off. - Then I increased my phone screen timeout to 10 minutes, but issue still here: again after some minutes (even if screen is still on) sound goes off... Could it be something with my phone? some setting of it? Or my P121? I read all posts on the thread, didn't find anything related Any suggestions?
  8. I am listening more carefully these days Gerry Gibbs' terrific album "Songs From My Father" (4 different trios play in this album, one of them containing one of the last Chick Corea performances) What surprised me is the fact that one of the trios is drums/piano/hammond Gerry Gibbs: Drums Patrice Rushen: Piano Larry Goldings: Hammond B3 (just check tracks 2,8 from Disk 1 and 1,5,8 from disk 2 ) I don't remember having listened such a trio before and it works well I think. Has anyone heard something similar?
  9. Labels are just labels... "Call It Anything" as Miles named the "song" of 1970 Isle Of Wight appearence (what a band! Gary Bartz, Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, Dave Holland, Jack DeJohnette and Airto Moreira. here for anyone not seen it yet) Thing is that jazz started to blend with other genres (rock, funk) in the late 60s. And 1968-1972 is my favorite period of that style because it was the early years... Also its very different what jazz musicians that blended other elements into their music did comparing to what rock bands did blending jazz into their sound. Apart from the obvious choices, some other favourites from the period - Herbie's Mwandishi period (Mwandishi, Crossings, Sextant) - Miroslav Vitous: Infinite Search, Purple I really like both In a Silent Way & Bitches Brew but Bitches Brew is my definite album of the era. Yes, it contains Teo Macero edits in most of the tracks but there are more direct performances as well (Spanish Key, Miles Run the Voodoo Down). It has a very distinct "sound" and no musician involved in this sounded similar in any later personal album (or in their groups) that followed (if I was to make a comparison with Dylan's electric period, In A Silent Way would be "Bringing it On Back Home" while Bitches Brew would be "Highway 61 Revised" and "Blonde On Blonde" together - or probably Jack Johnson would be Blonde on Blonde)
  10. I came across this site (https://www.thejazzpianosite.com/jazz-piano-lessons/) and youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCk24OnGLcP5XlTBjZ9WBWvw) recently and I have been impressed too by the content and the way it is presented. (I am not not a pianist nor a musician - just in my free time I am trying to learn some things). I have tried books, videos etc but when I came across this guy a new world opened for me. He is the teacher I wanted to have (and as mentioned all are free - donation are welcomed) So I just did a search in the forum and found this post - I agree with all things mentioned in the post above I dont know if this works for evenyone but definitely works for me For example these 2 (similar) introductory videos say much more that I could find anywhere else And of course there are a lot more videos/topics that would take a liftime (at least for me) to practice Still struggling with his arrangement on autumn leaves.... For example his videos about in his playlist about "modern jazz theory" are a revalation for me...
  11. Hello, I am thinking of getting VB3m for android for using it with my Yamaha P121 Yamaha P121 is an audio interface and can transfer audio/midi via USB so (hopefully) nothing else is needed for listening through pianos' speakers and/or headphone out. 1) So what is needed is just a USB 2.0 type-B to type-A cable connected with OTG-adapter (to type-c or whatever the phone has?) Has anyone tried with this or similar Yamaha board? Any issues with latency? 2) I can see in the sceenshots here https://www.genuinesoundware.com/?a=showproduct&b=50 in Settings page that you can set split point and add pedal tones to lower manual Can this be saved to specific program(s)? or is just a global setting (on/off for all programs)? 3) In case I want to use (in the future) a controller like Korg NanoKontrol, I have read that a powered USB hub is needed Can someone explain how the connection chain would be in such a case? I assume that every hub has an "input" (that will normally be connected to PC) and several outputs How such a setup should be? having the usb hub, P121 piano, an android phone and nanokontrol
  12. They just uploaded today "User manual" and "Sounds MIDI Map" documents https://www.studiologic-music.com/support/numa_x_piano/ https://www.studiologic-music.com/support/numa_x_piano/Numa_X_Piano_Manual_EN.pdf https://www.studiologic-music.com/support/numa_x_piano/Numa_X_Piano_MIDI_map.pdf
  13. The original bag for the piano (Yamaha SC-KB750) is a bit expensive (costs 25% the price of the piano itself) Has anyone tried a cheaper one that fits? The piano is on the thick side (166 mm)
  14. Thank you all This is exactly what I had in my mind, just an observation of the phonomenon - nothing to do with my playing So Nord (at least in stage 3) has this "feature" and probably Yamaha as well in other models? I understand that might not be something important, but given that these keybords are trying to replicate the real ones, why they shouldn't behave in a similar way?
