I watched a music-related awards ceremony on TV several years ago. Can't remember which one it was. But I found the whole thing so cringeworthy that I've never watched one since.
Having said that, best of luck to your friend, Nathanael

As a creator, the ads are just terrible.... they are random, and then put in totally random places, completely interrupting the flow. Even TV puts them at fixed intervals. In a musical context, it is just horrible - right in the middle of something.
I completely agree with you
YouTube ads are incredibly annoying!

Thanks for the info, chaps

It all depends on their mixer but it should work. I've done it successfully many times.
Okay. Thanks

Don't hate me. I'm a live sound noob.
I've been asked to join a non-gigging, rehearsal room-only band. Which is fine by me as I don't particularly want to play in front of an audience, but I would like to play with other people.
I'm extremely short of funds at the moment and I was wondering if I could plug my active bass directly into the rehearsal room's PA. I don't have an amp or a DI box, and I can't justify the outlay for either of those items at present.
I have a ten-year-old Sandberg Basic four-string.
Thanks.

After much thought and self-flagellation, I'd like to change my answer from '66 - '75 to '65 - '74.
I simply couldn't leave out Help! and Rubber Soul. And apart from A Night at the Opera, '75 wasn't that great.

Good advice.
I'm of the opinion that songs, in a kind of hazy form, are floating around in the aether, and songwriters have (for want of a better word) antenna which can pick up these songs and make sense of them.
