  1. Object Safe Mode seems to be improved in OS v1.16 because now I can see also FX chains are being included when adding dependent objects. Good job, Kurzweil!
  2. IMHO P-515 for acoustic pianos, SV-2 for electric. Really. But trying for yourself is always recommended. Kawai has some amps simulations in ES/MP lines too, so those could be useful for electric pianos. Acoustic pianos on SV-2 do have noticeable amount of something like white noise in samples, particularly on higher and highest velocity layers. I also think that the whole board is constantly humming a bit just a little. Silence is not perfectly silent. Noise gate on my Kurzweil PC4-7 audio input shows this perfectly (I am playing my Yamaha and Korg through Kurzweil). I can also switch the gate off. This Kurzweil is the cleanest sounding board I have ever owned when it comes to "background noise volume level". OTOH while Yamaha pianos sound is quite sterile as we often see on forums, SV-2 is totally opposite. They are so warm and imperfect, even dark, good for playing solo but I can't find any acoustic piano from the new samples included in SV-2 that has the proper rock and roll bite to play with the loud band and cut through. But it's fine for solo playing. Your opinion may be different, obviously. I am unable to tell how SV-2 sound from its speakers, because I have the version without them.
  3. Yes, it's compatible, but its total size is more than 2GB, so you cannot load all instruments at once. The pack comes with separate files too, so you can choose what to load.
  4. New PC4 OS v1.15 gives us Object Safe Mode which solves most issues with deleting too many objects. It checks dependent objects of selected if they are used by other objects. Be careful with dependent FX chains and double check if you want to delete the selected ones or not. Other than that, it should solve most issues. Always double check if you have Object Safe Mode switched on (Yes) in Objects>Options submenu, before selecting objects to delete.
  5. Yeah, PC4-7 action is pretty good for playing piano programs. About CK73/76, I would rather prefer semi weighted action variant, but who knows. GHS? What about the newest GHC (Graded Hammer Compact)? Has anyone tried it in new P145 or P225?
  6. I can use Yamaha FC-7 with Korg SV-2 so for expression pedals they should be compatible.
  7. You need Purgatory Creek Soundware sounds released for Forte, at least MkII Rhodes which is free. All their sounds are well made.
  8. Metal chassis with faux wood end pieces I would say.
  9. GrandTouch-S is different. Pivot length for black keys is increased (black key hinges are moved deeper nside the board) and the internal construction is noticeable depart from all GH, GHE, BHE, NW, NW-STAGE and NWX actions. I have played CLP-735 (which has non-wood version) briefly in the shop and it was definitely lighter to press down, seemed also more sensitive on same touch settings, and longer pivot was easily noticeable on black keys which were easier to play. Grand pianos also have this feature. Unfortunately I couldn't compare side-by-side with my P-515. I am glad they also added registration memory in P-525, this is quite missing on P-515. Anyway I think I won't upgrade, even if it is very tempting because external dimensions are exactly the same! No need for new case for new board!
  10. I think so. http://expressionpedals.com/list-of-expression-pedals At least FC7 with my DIY adapter reversing tip/ring works well with my Kurzweil and worked with Rolands.
  11. Do you plug your pedal before powering on or later? Do you press that pedal while powering on? I am using Yamaha FC4A with no issues, always powering the board on after plugging in the pedal. FC5 should work exactly the same way.
  12. Any samples. Just if you loaded some sounds featuring programs, fx chains, keymaps, samples - previously if you wanted to e.g. delete those sounds you selected programs, then added dependent objects and samples remained unselected after that operation. With the last update, samples are selected, which is correct.
  13. In the PC4 OS version 1.14 samples are now correctly being added as dependent objects.
  14. I totally agree. Having said that, FA-07 was my real workhorse for everything. I had switched from 06 version. Great keybed feel in 07. What annoyed me most was shiny panel that needed those matte overlays. Unfortunately I haven't got a chance to try new Fantom-07 or -06 (I am glad they put identical keybed in both newer models), so I can't express my opinion about the keybed.
