you can drill it and it wont crack also it can come tinted

cut a 4by 8 sheet width wise into 2 ft cuts and assemble with piano hinge if your on a budget

    there you go BIG B

Hello. I stumbled upon this thread and decided to put my 2 cents here. From my experience, plexiglass is really a poor choice. I'm glad that modern drum shields are made of acryl material. Yes, you can buy a couple of acrylic sheets from Home Depot and cut it by yourself. Besides, nowadays you look for drum cage ideas on the web or even get an assembling shield kit with deflectors.

  2. +1 for the Gibraltar suggestion. I use what I believe is the 9608HM and while it doesn't have a backrest, it's very comfortable.

I second the Gibraltar suggestion. I had 9608HM for several years, was using it both for practice and gigs. But during this February I got injured and started having problems with my back and legs. My keyboardist suggested me this page about choosing the best drum throne for back problems. In his opinion I should pick either Roc-n-Soc nitro which he uses or Gibraltar 9608MB. I tried both and liked both, but decided to stick with a familiar brand, because it's sturdy and definitely suits a 220 lbs guy like me.
