  1. Honestly I hope your right. I think it was the second to last one, I literately fell asleep in the movie theater LOL. On Christmas day. My own snoring woke me up LOL. It was at the scene of the girl waiting for Luke to come with her, and she refuses to leave till he does. I think anything Disney had to do with this movie, was just a massacre. They should of never touched it. It had a George Lucas signature to it. Even if you didnt like him, I could tell its not his work. Kind of like switching band mates LOL.
  2. Sorry about your friend desert. It does suck. Im feeling that right now. Was just messaging an old friend from another forum earlier. Bad ass guitar player too. Havent spoken to any of them in about 3 ish years. Site went dead. But he hasnt played in over 4 years. Also has no plans to pick it up either. After trying to convince him to try, he tells me he had surgery and going through cancer. Not that he doesnt want to play, he just cant. He tries every now and then too see if it will come back, but never does. He also said, he rarely comes to the forums anymore. Just caught him in time. Gotta admit, Im little bothered by it. You dont get an amazing talent, and then have it stripped from you. Not fair to him or any player for that matter. Im glad you did meet up with him. Remember that moment. They really are important.
  3. In regards to this, I was also believing my 10 year old Line 6 could also be partially responsible. I know it was updated, I find it hard to believe MTS was sole the problem. When I uninstalled, and re-installed, my Line 6 wont work now. So to me, Im believing it does share the problem. I have a support ticket with line 6. If I dont hear from them, Im going to go to Guitar center, and just get the newest Line 6 thing available, and put the old one to rest. Once I get that squared away, I will then see if software is still messing up. If that does happen, I will re-bump this topic, and go to the next step. Thank you Dr Mike, and MoodBlues keys.
  4. I originally just found it online. It looked and simple, and records simple. I finally got a hold of him. Customer support is apparently one guy. The one who made it LOL. I originally messaged the forum board there. When I didnt get an answer I realized, no one was there for the last 2 weeks (which Is why I lost my temper LOL) Geil (thats his name) finally answered the board. Personally after a detailed problem like I listed above, I got a 2 sentence answer. And it was something I already knew. He then disappeared for 2 days. I decided at that point to just find a "support" thingy, and finally located it within the software itself. Did what I asked, and sent. Now Geil has been helping a little better. Maybe he didnt know I needed help or something. Its a problem, that lies within play mode, and record mode. Once I figure we figure it out, prob should be solved (I hope LOL) So I guess when its in play mode, you cant hear guitar. When you hit record/standby or record/play, you then hear it. Its never had that behavior before.
  5. Bump* would anyone know the solution for above prob?
  6. Hi All I posted this on the forums at multitrack studios, but it doesn't look like they come on often. So I copy n pasted my prob here, maybe someone can figure it out. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Been buying your stuff forever and today I realized you have a forum LOL. Ok, I broke something an I cant figure it out. So Im going to go nice and slow. (ps: Just bought the Pro 2 days ago, but either way Ive always had everything working) First let me explain how I have gear attached. I have my guitar. Then the chord goes to a little plastic box from Line 6. It has capabilities to connect by USB, or Line in. Since Ive been using USB for over 10 years, I dont use the line in, just USB. So in behind the computer to USB in. Second, I use the line 6 software. This has chorus, flanger, reverb, this is the heart and soul of my sound (its like my guitar amp with attitude) . Dont need MTS to work this. I always have this on auto settings. MTS did work with it fine. This part was not touched. I believe it uses the adio4all as well. Third. MTS its self. I will give you the set up that DOES work. Lets go Studio>>Devices. Ok, now this is where I get confused. (this is the part thats broken LOL) So I'll give the settings Audio Driver Type: Windows XP (NOT RECOMMENDED) Audio In Device: Digital Audio Interface (Line 6) MIDI In Devices: None Audio Out Device (High Latency): Speakers (Realtek High Definition) Audio Out Device (Low Latency): Primary Sound Driver [Latency 3072]samples MIDI Out Devices: None Those setting DO work, guitar can record, the track can play ALL at the same time. So Im going to go over how the recording process goes for me: Track 1: energy 160 beats per minute guitar backtrack (this has bass, drums, rhythm guitar all in one track) Track 2: Lead 1 solo (this is my guitar track the I record too) Some of my work, has multiple tracks, but I made is simple. I can click record on track 2, while playing track 1. When Im finished, I can go back to beginning, and play both tracks, and it works. Problem is it sounds like sh* (*looks at forum rules) shtupid music LOL. I think default is "Windows" Driver type. Cant remember, as I broke this LOL. I will give you my possible options for that setting. Audio Driver Type: Windows Audio In Device: None, Default, Digital Audio Interface (Line 6 TonePort GX) Midi In Devices: None, Line 6 TonePort GX (same for a 4 columns) Audio Out Device: None, Default, Speakers (RealTek High Definition Audio). [latency 12] Midi Out Devices: None, Default, Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth, Line 6 TonePort GX With the above setting, I can either use Line 6 alone, or MTS alone. They wont work together. Now I did press record, on MTS, on track 2, strum the guitar, and see the needle move (not sure if right term) this means MTS can hear it, just not me. I have an Asio4All driver type as well. Not sure what to press with these either. I'll show those options. Audio Driver Type: ASIO MIDI In Devices: None, Line 6 TonePort GX (same for all 4 columns) Audio Device: None, ASIO TonePort GX, ASIO4ALL v2, MIDI Out Devices: None, Default, Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth, Line 6 TonePort GX Personally I dont know what a MIDI devices is. The only input I use is a USB as stated above. If it is the same thing, please let me know. And finally, all my options for the ASIO4ALL settings Im aloud. Under WDM Device List I Have in order: Realtek High Definition Audio Realtek HD Audio Stereo input Realtek HD Audio output Realtek HD Audio Mic input Line 6 TonePort GX Out: 2x 44.1-48k Hz, 24Bits In: 2x 44.1-48k Hz, 24 Bits ASIO Buffer Size = 512 Samples I think that might be all that matters there as Ive never really touched this thing. I dont know what to turn on or off on this. Im believing I have all the settings, let me know, what else is needed.
  7. Yes I enjoyed this. Great jam. Should take a quick peak at his work.
  8. You are very welcome slipclone! Dont like too see any musician go through that. Just getting a paper cut, can make playing tough. I wish that on nobody. Oh nice, what kind of music do you perform in Tokyo? Is a pleasure to meet you too. PS: Im liking your "Crystal Eyes" song!! Real nice work there. Superb guitar leads in it!!
  9. Man, if music could be coincided a religion, your statement would be on the 10 commandments (not that Im throwing religion at anyone) Nothing has impressed me more than a real drummer. Hands down. Yes you guys definetly are!! I can fluff, or twist just about anything, but when it comes to drums, they're either real or they're not. I think I prob spent over $800 worth of different drum machines, and $200 in a guitar center newbie drum set, for someone to learn it, and still have no access to a real talented drummer. Big waste of money. My biggest flaw in music, is zero drummers. At J. Dan, your 100% correct. Best way to go about it. If you saw though, my comment to dboomer, it was my guitar work that came first (an idea recorded) and tried to find a beat that would fit what I did. I think if I had a drummer, I would definitely do the click track, and then have the drummer add-on after. I think I joined a handful of sites/forums in the past, just to find a great drummer open for projects. As far as the bass (even though Im lousy at it, and a different topic itself) I can do a real cheap simple track either using a keyboard, or use my whammy peddle, with divebomb (or what ever its called) and get by. But not when it comes to a drummer. Real is the way to go.
  10. LOL. Found something I could work with. Wasnt really a cover. Just a decent background to play too. Those above was just an idea for a created track.
  11. Im glad you asked that. Im hoping he answers. The sad truth of what Im seeing in his statement, is it seems the kind of music that requires the use of guitars is fading. Im seeing a tend. If it isnt thrash or hard rock, the guitar player seems to be taking a backseat. Just enough to know he is there, but the limelight of the guitar soloist seems to be not so front stage. Plus, with todays tech and the use of internet, a mess load of the forums about guitarist seem to going down hill too. Its how I ended up here. I searched for an active forum within the year. The last one I was on, was very active, but when I left music to take a break 5 years ago, came back and most havnt been on in 2 years. I messaged the Admin, about making it active again, and to what I feel is, hes not interested. And my youtube!! Damn, I had a good list of friends there. And same as the forum. They left. I tried getting their attention but to no avail. No one has interest in these things anymore. Pretty sad
  12. My bad, I guess I misread that line. Still a great jam
  13. Hi Members Just going over so of my videos on youtube, and with this studio function thingy, I noticed some of my vids are private. Prob to save some embarrassment at the time, but I uploaded this, I dont know, a song in the making thing, but thought Id share. A member from another site was going to work with me on a tune. He wanted a basic structure to work with. So I put down this lead (yes I know HEAVY flanger & reverb) Then I come in with this rhythm guitar a bit. I send it and he says "What, no drums?" Im like Shaun, you know I dont have anything other than the electronic per-programed thing. He tells me to go with it anyway. So the third track was a drum track. The fact it was so non-line up-able, this says why drummers are so important. Wow was I off beat etc [video:youtube]
  14. Thats awesome!!! LOL Try to go with one of those scratch-n-sniff ones. Like new inmate-but scent
  15. HAHAH Ya no prob. And if you would, Id like to see your interview when the time comes.
  16. Do you still have all your hair? LOL My condolences my friend. (totally just messing with ya )LMAO! Ya I was talking most of todays style media. Its amazing how a story is told, by who's telling the story. I follow some real-news type bloggers etc, and one of the big ones in my area, just got blacklisted on google yesterday. Messed up part, is they have never told a story that wasnt true. They copy-n-paste your exact words like on Facebook etc. And then people yell at them calling them racist etc. Its just crazy when they say that, cause all they did, was copy-n-paste the persons exact words. Im sure its just a matter of time, before they are gone too.
  17. Was just thinking the same thing. It could end up becoming a month out. Hope you feel better Skip.
  18. Thanks guys! Yes I know I should back them up. You would of thought of this happening previously to me, I would of done this already. Im not sweating it too much, as most of my finds etc, was online. So With another computer, I can re download, and restart them. I only have two complaints. One, my 'Snow Blown" or Snow something, track, I forget where I found that. I still remember how to play, just need the background. And second, that demo I just showed "Energy". It wasnt completely done being worked on. I did a few things on it, I might not remember how I completely done it. End of the world? No. I believe this is why I should also video record my playing. Ive looked at some of my old work, and said, "how the hell did I do that?" LOL
  19. The bus was late. I waited and waited so I finally walked Thank you Greg! You know Chef Ramsay? NICE!!! Thanks Again Greg!!
  20. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rolling Stone Magazine Interview What kind of instrument(s) do you play, and for how long?: I play guitar, and used to play some piano/keyboard when I was younger Do you feel that play well with them?: Well I did throw a soccer ball at my guitar and it didnt give it back, so no we dont play well LOL. As far as musically, I always want to get further. Keep learning it. Is their any other instrument that you would like to learn and play?: Is the Kazoo an option? Just kidding. The bass and drums. It always seems to be the two, that prevent me from finishing a song, if I dont have those players available How serious of a player, do you consider yourself?" Outside music, I take things in stride and humor. Get me in the studio, Im so serious, Im about ready to give birth. And to make matters worse, when Im stumped on an area or an idea I walk around with a cigarette as if I AM waiting in the maternity ward. Where do you want to be musically? And are you there already?: Im comfortable where I am. I dont care if I could be the next EVH, I dont want to be famous. I do this all for fun. Do you have any regrets musically?: Theres a few. One is not getting my tracks uploaded for online storage. Ive lost music 3 times already, and today was that third time. What is the most frustrating thing you've dealt with, in your journey within the music world?: Getting a project complete, cause you might need that one guitar peddle, or maybe your looking for a certain vocal voice style, and noone meets that kind of voice. Every musician has someone they admire. Who do you admire and why?: Its gotta be Joe Satriani. I loved and still do Eddie Van Halen, but no one put me in the drivers seat like Joe Satriani. Once I realized that instrumental rock exists, and he pretty much is the captain of that boat, my music went from 5 MPH to 160 MPH in 2 seconds. I owe it too him. Similar to the last question, is their anyone musically that you don't care for and why?: I wouldnt say anyone in particular as so to speak, but more of an attitude. I hate the musician who acts like his/her shit doesnt stink. As much as I love EVH and his work, he has an arrogancy about him. For an example, when VH was on I believe the David Letterman show, they performed their "Not Enough" song from the "Balance" CD Even though we know Eddie wrote and recorded the opening piano, when he was on stage, he played this, well knowing Al from the Letterman show, is just as talented, was waiting. Eddie opened on piano, and once Eddie was on guitar, Al then does the piano. The whole song by piano should of been done by Al. But Eddie is 'self-serving' anyhow. If you could turn back time, is their anything that you would change about what you did or not done: Would of definitely not talked to that undercover cop outside that concert,,,oh wait, you mean musically? Definitely would of been lessons. I regret not having them. I also regret my radio stations not playing Satriani. A place like Boston, you would think we would of had access to Satch in early 80's didnt hear of him a later time. Is there a song(s) that you've absolutely loved working on and why?: Yes, one of them Im in the process of finishing, called "Energy" I have a couple of others but I found that track 3 days prior. Some of my music has taken weeks or months to complete. Energy has to be one of the shortest Ive worked on Also, is there a song(s) that you've absolutely hated working on and why?: Damn it all RSM we dont have all day LOL. There was this one song, I think its called "Miss You" which I believe I had the demo on my youtube. But anyway, Im working with a legit sound producer, Danny Danzi, and him and I are talking. Long story short, Im to make this quick demo, and he would come back, add REAL drums ,and bass. Everyone knows I cant stand electronic drums. But he needed something to work with. So Im writing this song, and it has a kind of catchy melody. Problem was, I got this 8 second melody stuck in my head. Im not talking just stuck, it was like a case of hemorrhoids. I ate, it was there. I had coffee, it was there, store run, it was there. An 8 second melody, that just looped over and over. By the time it was day 4 or something, I got a hold of him, and said "F" this Im done!!!!!! LMAO. He says "Dave relax whats wrong". I says "Danny my song is driving me crazy. I cant even shit without hearing it." He says, "what about the $200 you sent me?" I says "keep it, buy coffee for yourself." HAHAHAHAHAH Damn, I'll never forget, how I was 5 minutes short of needing a straight jacket after that. What a moment. Do you have any advise for new musicians that are just starting out?: Yes, dont eat yellow snow. WAIT thats for me. Um for them, yes, Dont look down on yourself. Everyone has hard and rough times. Their isnt a musician ever, thats found it easy. To give up and quite, and only tells you, that you will never see your full potential. The only bad musician, is the one who quits. If I was too call security, and have you removed from this interview, would you go peacefully, or would we need security?: Ohhhhh damn RSM, Only if tazers are involved. Im due for a good shock about right now LMAO PS: My nightmare song "Miss You" LOL. That melody that got me crazy starts at 0:13 seconds, and ends at 0:28 seconds -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  21. Hi members Was just thinking, what it would be like to interview some great musician, and thought up too make this topic. (please dont get in my head, you will only get lost LOL ) So what would it be like if Rolling Stones Magazine came here and Interviewed us? How would you answer, what would you say? I made a template, in case you want to copy n paste. This is also just for fun, nothing else. We might learn each other better. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rolling Stone Magazine Interview What kind of instrument(s) do you play, and for how long?: Do you feel that play well with them?: Is their any other instrument that you would like to learn and play?: How serious of a player, do you consider yourself?" 22. Hi People Im believing this is the right forum. If Im wrong, could a mod move it? Thank you. This is more of a technique question than anything. I also dont have my comp at the moment to test, but Im taking your word for it. Alright, I might as well show the song, so I can get to that part. Here is the vid: [video:youtube] PS: Youtube used to have a really great concert version of him Live in Tokyo, but as always, its not there. At the 0:55 second mark, (my fav part) I did buy the $200 Whammy peddle to do that, and still cant pull off LOL < thats not the question, thats just me bitching about it LMAO The part that crazy and confusing is at 2:08. So what I gather, its supposed to be 2 delaying hes using. In that Tokyo Live vid, it shows him bending down to his delay peddle, turning the knob, and that sound happens. Sounds its "easily" done. Didnt look complicated in Joes playing it live. Its sounded spot on too if I remember correctly. So what do I do? I connect my synth peddle which has a delay, after guitar, and before software. Then used the software delay. In his line up, I believe he has a pre-delay, and an after-delay kind of route ( I could be wrong) But however he is doing Ive never come close to achieving that. Not sure if the make an model of the delay peddle that matters, or type of delay. Anyone have an insight to whats happening and how? Winston Psmith could your knowledge be helpful here?
  23. Thank you Winston Psmith. I like long reads. Knew another guy like you on another site in regards to recording tips. Took 2 days just to get past the greeting alone Yes, finding this place very knowledgeable. Some of the info I found here, used to cost big bucks at one time. Now its just an Internet page away. And I do hope Im able to contribute. That would be nice.
  24. Thank you Lokair Very much. Laid back hopefully with an instrument in their hands LOL. Except for drummers, cause, you know, that would hurt
