  1. +1 to having both... I think the Rhodes has a greater dynamic range. The Wurlitzer however captures me every time I play it. I don't know how or why (and I adore my Rhodes!) but it's just something. Wurlies are magical.
  2. I am also using the 1122 from the Legend to run a 142. Perfect setup, to control both the Leslie and the internal sim to FOH if needed. I also have a Lounsberry Tall and Fat in the effects loop . Im also from Melbourne originally, my long lost son maybe ??? haha Hahaha, perhaps! How do you find the Lounsberry working with the 142? I'm at the point where I feel like my setup is just one step away from a real console soundwise, and that's a schelp I ain't happy with! I play boogaloo, funk, jazz (LHB all the way).
  3. Dave Smith Rev2 8 voice... Figure I can add the extra 8 voices if I find I need them later. Kinda looking forward to working with the 8 voice limitation.
  4. Some updates. Primarily the Viscount Legend. Getting the 1122 connector to get the Leslie up and running with it, looking forward to that coming in! Kronos packed away hoping someone buys it. Electro 4 HP in gig bag to chuck in the car at a moments notice. http://i64.tinypic.com/vdn8dt.jpg
  5. A lot of the time it's the function and physicality of the instruments that differ. Ie, an organ clone feels different to play than a weighted stage piano, so people put an organ keyboard above a stage piano and the two are meant to do different things. Same can be said for synthesiser keyboard feel vs organ vs piano vs Rhodes vs Wurlitzer vs clavinet... Get too into it and you end up like some of us with all sorts of fun toys. When I joined the forum, I had stage piano. Now look at my sig... I'm probably one of the more conservative here as well!
  6. Secondhand Nord Electro 4HP. Needed a lightweight gigging board for CBD gigs. Took my Rhodes/amp/stool on a cart on the train couple of weeks ago. Would rather not.
  7. just a run of a ballad, with a bit of iReal backing... more playing than actual practice, but trying to get into the habit of recording myself warts and all so I can start getting rid of all those bad habits I don't notice while I'm playing. Any comments welcomed and appreciated!
  8. Bob Kauflin has also written a book called Worship Together that I have found really helpful. Good one to get a whole team to read and discuss.
  9. Shot of the boards on stands, been rare recently to have them all set up without something being packed in the car for a gig/rehearsal.
  10. Been through some gear shuffles recently, plenty to update the dig my rig thread with as well... Korg Kronos 2 88 1977 Rhodes Mk1 Fender Hot Rod Deluxe III Moog Sub 37 Couple of stompboxes... Gassing after a Korg MS2000B at the moment... Will it ever end? :-P
  11. Whoo!! More Aussies! If you're ever down in Hobart give us a bell. There are some nuts keys players down here with some good gigs going on. And great craft beer and whiskeys. Good times all around.
  12. would like to see someone try to put a guitar amp underneath that... absolutely beautiful.
  13. Some tracks that got a bit shelved last year, feel like sharing them with some people and getting some thoughts. Couple of originals and a Glasper tune. Rhodes/Bass/Drums (if people are still buzzing about the MP11, that's the board being used). Give 'em a like or comment here or on the soundcloud page! Would love to hear your feedback. A few brain farts in some of the solos, I know... Cheers, James
  14. My setup from a big church event tonight in Tasmania, Australia. Bumping gear in/out was not fun, but the playing of things was pretty okay! http://s32.postimg.org/smsh2lwfp/IMG_20160515_190535.jpg
  15. http://s32.postimg.org/d6hl3py2t/Attach15801_20160508_183318.jpg Leslie 142. Mmmmmm.... now, the only issue is I'm not convinced I can move it out of the car by myself and I live alone. Any tips on moving a short boy solo?
