  1. Contact local piano technicians. Some broker sales for their clients. My piano tech got me a K Kawai 6’ grand from the 1970’s for around $7K. Solid mahogany, chosen among 10 or twenty auditioned by the choirmaster from the previous owner’s church. Hardly broken in, previous owner an older doctor. Good luck.
  2. I sold a Ehodes Mk I on Craigslist to a guy on the opposite coast. I told him I would have to take it to UPS and have them pack it for shipping with insurance. He really wanted it so he paid for it all.
  3. On behalf of my colleagues in the Nord American Restoration Drycleaners, I strongly protest this slanderous and misleading discussion.
  4. I played a gig recently and the bandleader sent my money via PayPal. Before pp would disburse the small amount of money to me, they wanted personal information including my SS number. I passed and told the bandleader to contribute it to a charity. Things are getting ridiculous.
  5. Geez, how do you think they used to play the 1812 Overture? Rimshots? Also, if you’ve never owned or put anyone’s eye out with a BB gun, there’s still time . . . .
  6. https://www.fullcompass.com/brand/km-k-m/accessories/parts-replacement-service/ https://www.fullcompass.com/prod/274440-k-m-01-84-760-55-rubber-end-cap-for-18940-and-14047 They fit my X stands and they’re $2 each.
  7. I took my Hohner 32 key melodica apart and cleaned the insides. Pretty easy.
  8. Is there a name on the unit so you could find a manual for it?
  9. I waited weeks to buy a Nord Stage 3 Compact, finally snagged one in May, as I recall. A week after Sweetwater and the other usual outlets took care of their waiting list customers, the price went up $500 or so, more than 10%. It’s a different world now, between fuel prices and chip shortages.
  10. That looks pretty good. Great price. I use one of these bass amps, Hartke KB12, when I need a small carry-in amp.
  11. I’m right there with you. 5D will do piano and organ split. Knock’em dead!
  12. I bet you could have had a tech fix it for half that, or fixed it yourself after opening it up with the aid of a YouTube video..
  13. Hammond emulations are the way to go. Hammond SK or Nord.
  14. These are awesome, if you can find one. TC also just came out with a Dreamscape pedal, but I haven’t tried one. https://www.musiciansfriend.com/amplifiers-effects/tc-electronic-nm-1-nova-modulator-modulation-guitar-effects-pedal
  15. I use an Alesis 8. If I was buying now, I’d get the small Mackie.
  16. Just before reading this post, I sold my Nord Electro 4D 61 for $1150, with Nord soft case, in central California. Good luck.
  17. I’ve had the original and now have the current version of that stand. The bag that Ultimate provides with the stand is not strong enough to gig with unless you’re careful. I suggest you find the strongest available fabric and find someone who knows how to sew., or give it a go yourself. You’ll need a full length zipper of course. Good luck.
  18. Best grab and go single amp I know of in that price range is the Hartke KB12. Very loud, good sound.
  19. Found this new Stage 3 with Nord soft case just before the $500 price increase.
  20. I use this automobile product in water solution. Takes off anything and is water based and plastic friendly. Just moisten a microfiber cloth. https://www.amazon.com/Optimum-NRWW2012Q-Rinse-Wash-Wax/dp/B00GG9FB8U/ref=sr_1_4?crid=26ZNUSSEIR4AN&keywords=optimum%2Bcar%2Bwash%2Bwax&qid=1653369395&s=automotive&sprefix=optimum%2Bcar%2Bwash%2Bwas%2Cautomotive%2C207&sr=1-4&th=1
  21. I got a Moog Prodigy in 1976, and have been programming since then. Roland JX3P, Kong DW8000, etc. Now I have a MiniMoog Voyager and the keyboards in my signature. The synth was intended for different purposes by different users. The days when users’ object was to emulate existing instruments were gone when samplers/romplers and keyboards like Nord electro took over. Nowadays, unlike the ‘80’s, the actual sound of electricity going through wires is not popular. But I think there’ll always be a time when musicians use an oscillator and a filter to make music. This thread reminds me of discussions I’ve seen where the future of the electric guitar is debated.
  22. Don’t have their kbd stand, but been using a Hercules music stand for years. Great stand, solid and easily adjustable.
  23. Nord Stage 3 73. Musicians Friend and Sweetwater both promised they’d have me one by March 1. Still haven’t heard from them. I saw the stocks on Amazon dwindling and bought from one of the Amazon vendors. Desperate times.
  24. K&M and weight: I weighed 240 at one point and no problem whatsoever on the stool. Built like a rock. Another consideration: K&M guarantees spare part availability for their products for five years after they are discontinued. Good to know if you regularly lose those push-on tubes that are the “feet” of many pieces of equipment, or if you subject your stuff to hard use. I found this out when I had to order a push-on foot for the stool.
