  1. Just as an aside, I would say that you've had bad luck regarding audio engineers. Even the lowliest venues should have a DI for you. Sure, if you have 3+ keyboards or a bunch of other DI channels in the band, I could see them getting annoyed, but what you describe seems unwarranted. I own a couple Radial ProD2's just because they are solid, but I don't think I've ever HAD to use them. If the TC Helicon has XLR output, you won't need a DI.
  2. Whatever you do, don't buy a computer with a hard disk drive (HDD), which seems to be the case with this one. A solid state drive (SSD) is the modern standard, and will be much, much faster.
  3. I think you're referring to Dan Tepfer
  4. It has been confirmed via his social media accounts. I think that website might just have an automatic entry for every celebrity; it probably has existed for a while
  5. Oh, are you just looking for a recording?
  6. Every song can be a clav song if you believe in yourself.
  7. Calling Cage a "tool" seems like a bit of an overreaction to me. I don't think he's trying to hurt or offend anyone. Sure, his work sometimes seems pointless, but isn't existence pointless as well? Might as well do some wacky, amusing shit during our short lives!
  8. Your mixer is not required or helpful in this scenario. Run your instruments straight to the interface, set the gain using the knobs on the front, and if you need to adjust the levels for a "monitor" mix, you can use the faders in your DAW. You can set those faders differently after recording, for the actual mixing stage.
  9. I believe you're thinking of Crash Kings? I was just listening to them the other day, really great band. I might actually write to the keyboardist/singer; see what he's up to these days.
  10. I forgot an important step: 2.5) In Logic, set your Audio output device to be Multi-Output Device.
  11. Mike, try this out: 1) Install Soundflower: https://github.com/mattingalls/Soundflower/releases/tag/2.0b2 (This will allow you to virtually route Logic's output, so it can be used as an input device) 2) Use your Mac's Audio MIDI Setup to create a Multi-Output Device: https://support.apple.com/guide/audio-midi-setup/play-audio-through-multiple-devices-at-once-ams7c093f372/mac (Select both Soundflower (2ch), as well as your interface. This will allow you to hear your Logic piano, as well as send it to Soundflower.) 3) Open Quicktime Player and choose File > New Movie Recording. Click the little arrow next to the record button and set your microphone to be Soundflower (2ch). 4) Click record, and afterwards do File > Save or File > Export (to choose a specific resolution). Hopefully this works with your slightly older machine. I'm no expert, but let me know if you have any questions
  12. Hi, I have two FC7 controllers. I'm trying to use them with my CP88 as a MIDI controller. I'm monitoring the MIDI CC data using Midi Monitor on a Mac. For some reason, I get 0-127 when using the "Foot Controller 2" input, but the "Foot Controller 1" input only shows about 30-127. Both pedals have the same results. Strangely enough, when hooked up to my Nord Electro 4's control input, the Nord says they're sweeping the full range. I've made sure that the "Limit Low" setting is at zero (under controller settings). Any idea what's going on here? I'm on OS 1.20... would updating help? Thanks
  13. Hi folks, I got a CP88 recently. I needed a bag in a hurry, so I got one of the cheap Gator bags, which is too big and generally a bit too flimsy. I'm looking to replace it with something a little sturdier, but not a case. Yamaha makes their own bag, the YSCCP88, which goes for 249 USD on Sweetwater. I'm also looking at the Gator G-PG-88, which seems comparable, and a little bit cheaper. Does anyone have a recommendation? Thanks.
  14. This should be up your alley: https://woodygoss.bandcamp.com/album/solo-rhodes
