  1. Yeah I like the neck, I had a Gibson Les Paul 50s tribute before that and that neck was FAT!!, I've always wanted a decent tele after owning a fender telecaster blackout neck with an after market copy body, I sold it and upgraded to the Baja, love it. I can get used to any neck to be honest, but yeah I play 40% Piano , 10% keyboard,30% on the Tele and about 20% on my electro acoustic in that band. I like the look of the boss tr-2 as I've seen them sell for £35 on certain auction site. I'm all for buying 2nd hand cheaper... In fact I got my Baja tele 2nd hand, 1 year old-good as new for £300 (he payed £650), I usually buy stand etc new and mics but both my keyboards were hardly used pristine condition used , both a lot cheaper £450 for the FA-06 and £1400 for the Nord and case (bought 10 months earlier for £2600) , I just feel better getting a bargain me . I'm already planning my pedal board for the tele, might take me a while but I'll get there.
  2. Was also thinking of getting a boost pedal. Maybe a TC Electronic Spark, was thinking I could wire my Nord through this in my other band also and if I'm ever wanting a boost in sound stomp on it... GAS
  3. so you decided against a Kronos ? Ha Ha, no ide still be interested in a 73 key Kronos 2 but I'd have to swap it with my Nord stage 2 plus cash or something and nothing has come up still... Meanwhile I'm happy with my Nord-FA-06 setup. My guitar rig is coming together for a new band though. Fender Baja 50s reissue Telecaster (love it) Hughes & Kettner Switchblade 100 combo (got new for a bargain price ,full valve amp) HOF mini ( awesomeness in a small box) Yamaha APX-700ii acoustic Looking for a tremelo or vibrato pedal next.
  4. Got a Hall of Fame mini reverb pedal for my guitar with 1 spot adapter , sounds awesome. Nothing keys related recently though.
  5. Thanks for that, I will try and find a keyboard with that action to try first then. I really like the action on the Yamaha CP4 , Kurzweil pc3x and Kronos 2, hated the action on Yamaha MOXF8 and Roland FA-08, the action on the Nord is somewhere between these.
  6. I've actually got some pretty decent sax and brass sounds out of the Nord recently and some of the strings are now usable now I e tweaked them so I'm not desperate or anything , but I do miss the warmer sound of the Kurzweils and excellent orchestral.
  7. Been a bit put off my reviews on the TP100 keys. I'll wait a year or two for a PC4 , hop fully with the same dimensions with big screen and new sounds or get the Forte 7 then.
  8. Just read this post, that's sucks about the keys not being the fatar 40l . What else has the same keys as the the forte SE then? I'll need some reviews but if the price is right it's a toss up between this and the forte 7.
  9. Oh my gosh I want it What's with the 2GB of Flash compared to the 16GB on the forte and forte 7 though? They don't seem to have a sound list (objects chart) for the Forte SE yet. That width is perfect. I'm really really happy with my Nord stage 2 and it does every well and pianos very well but my heart will always belong to Kurzweil. I need to know a price and when it will be available and have a plan. Looks nicer than the other kurzweils I think.
  10. Yeah I'll have to sort something similar out for the pedals. I'm thinking maybe a black bit of wood, pedals all attached with heavy duty Velcro (is velcroed a word?) and then some how sort it so it doesn't move. After that I plan to creat some kind of box or case that I can house 2 DI boxes, mic split box, small mixer, and have holes drilled out for the cable jacks and painted stage black so you don't notice it. That's the one good thing about my setup is that you can't see any mess, but with the Spider I don't want cables and Di boxes and all over the place. Maybe I could somehow marry them both into one thing to carry and have underneath and it'll just look like cables going into a box then less cables out. It's strange , if I see a band I couldn't care less if the keyboard player has a messy rig with cables all over the place - it's rock n roll right!, but I am just Incable of just throwing it together and not bothering tidying it all up so we look a bit more pro... But then again pros don't go to these lengths do they. I'm odd I think maybe. Funny thing is I love relic basses, I love beat up look of a bass with paint off and an amp that's got leather ripped off etc as it just seems cooler , but with my keyboard I want that rig tidy and clean
  11. Thanks for that. So does this replace a part or go underneath and make it stronger?
  12. Do you have a part number for that so I can order it from thomann also ?
  13. I'm thinking of that exact setup . How tidy does it look with cable etc? At the moment I have a sheet that velcros underneath my board and hides the chaos that's going on with cables and pedals , will it allow me run 4 audio cables,2 power cables,2 sustain pedals, and a foot controller cable in the gap in the stand thought the centre? If not I might do some DIY with Dline trunking cable management and Velcro it on the side or something. Do you use the iPad at the top for setlist maker or just for notes?
  14. I'm afraid it was. dB zotzed that whole thread because of its intemperate overall tone and toxic level of snark. Tread lightly, who revisits this particular topic. . Was it a common fault or a freak one off? Did K&M honour any warranty, I'd hate for my keys to get smashed
  15. All sounds promising. I tried searching on here because there was a thread a while ago about a "useless", I know it was K&M but can't remember if it was the spider pro, I just remember seeing smashed Yamaha Motif and a broken stand so hope it wasn't this one.
  16. I'm looking to leave my K&M 18810 stand at home to save having to take it apart and assembly it , then put it all back. I was thinking of getting another K&M 18810 but in red, but then I saw the Spoder Pro and it got me thinking. Does it wobble? I mean if I'm playing some Great balls of fire will it wobbly worryingly? I've never used a column stand before so I have no experience . I like the small footprint on a small stage, I usually face forward so I'm also wondering if the top of the column will get in the way. (I play standing and seated depending what mood I'm in)
  17. I like the organs on the FA. Lots to choose from.
  18. Glad you sorted it, cheers for posting a fix for anyone searching with the same problem
  19. Did you save it with the changes? Did you create a backup file from a while ago you can revert back to? Do you mean the overdrive is on all instruments but just on that set up? Ant you just turn that effect off and get on with other stuff until you figure what's happening?
  20. Is it something to do with changing that little lock icon to unlock in the set up? I think when you unlock it it lets you do separate effects on each track. Maybe not, that's just my guess. I always unlock anyway (not 100% sure what it does but have a look
  21. I copied your rig, Rik. Although I came to that wonderful instrument combination on my own after lots of research and trial & error. I'll get pix up here one of these days. ~ vonnor Yeh it works well doesnt it. Got both 2nd hand , both were under 6 months old and hardly used but saved a whopping £1500 doing that. Think they work well together. Did you sort out playing the sounds from the FA-06 from the Nordstrom keys? I tried it and my studio sets didn't sync up.
  22. http://i58.tinypic.com/28bs9c1.jpg http://i61.tinypic.com/a0yy5u.jpg I did straighten the curtain out after taking the picture, but you get the idea Oh yeh and I cut my old rubber darts mat up to make a grippy rubber base for pedals.
  23. Also a black sheet with Velcro stitched on and then then Velcro stuck underneath the Nord to create a skirt to hide all the mayhem of cables n stuff, looks smart from the front.
  24. http://i62.tinypic.com/10p8qqr.jpg Roland FA-06 Nord stage 2 Yamaha mg06x K&m 18810 stand Cables from designacable, van damme cables with neutrik connectors Big dog drum throne ( need to buy a higher stool to raise it all up) I usually stand but find it easier using 2 sustain pedals and organs pedal to sit down. ART Split com pro Oh yeh and that black barrel thing is my cats scratching post thing that I just bunged in to rest my monitor mixer on lol., I need to get the Yamaha connector to attach it to something in future.
