  1. The sad truth is that Nord pianos sound always great in recordings and headphones and often for the audience but never good for the performer using PA monitoring. I learned that the hard way and no EQ setting can change that. Even with boutique class speaker equipment I think something is missing. Yam pianos are much less sensible to that, one of the reasons I keep for live playing still my old P-250. This is not to say that with newest line array gear in near future the situation won't improve.
  2. I played the CP88 in a store here recently since I!m looking for a new lighter live axe to supplement my E5D and to replace my P250. What I like compared to the 515 is that they have much more prof. rear in/out (XLR, power connectors etc.). However, no string resonance which is not understandable since 515 has it which may be limiting usage to band context.
  3. Loaded and tried the new grand XL on my E5D. Definitely a keeper for jazz/cocktail bar style performances. Tried it with a Curv 500 stereo. Nice. But I wonder how it will sound with a pair of RCF TT08 A II I"m currently lurking for. Anyway, even with one speaker using the E5D mono setting it is more than usable.
  4. Royal Grand seems to work OK mono on my E5D. But mono? Seriously?
  5. It is an open secret in the Nord forums that the velocitiy mappings have still room for improvement. I also don't know if you can tweak it or extend the range using a triple sensor midi controller.
  6. I have to say that I am very impressed by this reply to one's issues with the device. There is love for the product by the inventor, no doubt.
  7. Regarding the topic, I understood "No woman, no cry" by Bob Marley when I was young in the "The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams" way .. better stay away
