  1. I have been using midi-hits.com for years. Purchased several of their smooth jazz midi that I found no where else. Tracks are programmed properly with good automation and time change parameters. DM me for a sample track from them.
  2. cp73 and modx 6 is what i am lining up as my next rig. been a while since i rigged yamaha. ok so korg showed us what they got # krome ex and kronos es, yamaha showed us the cp73 and 88.....now Roland my old friend, please show us that v synth sequal i need. i miss the old Roland.
  3. considering jumping to MODX but I had issues with several yamaha keyboards in the past. One thing i noticed is that graded hammer action is not the same on all their keyboards. DGX, Mox, Moxf, Modx, p115 all use GH action, i have played them all, and they all differ considerably. one main GH keybed problem is dead keys popping up in winter seasons. just a little chill in the air, and those sensors beneath the keys start acting up.
  4. For splits, layers you are better of using Keystage or Camelot pro. I have recently switched to this apps and its the best options for traditional keyboard style splits.
  5. Audio Bus just got a midi learn update thats pretty neat. Another one to add to the Live iPad rig list.
  6. The way that I can switch between songs and set lists, sheet music with just my midi controller makes it closer to Mainstage for me. I agree having built in sounds would be the icing on the cake, as native plugins should load and be stable consistently. My only caveat right now is that AUv3 does not load in RAM throughout the loaded set. So each song each Au has to be loaded again, think this could be an apple restriction. The iPad Pro 1Tb has 6Gb Ram! We really should be seeing Mainstage on iOS, the power is there. I run 30 songs and about 100 multi tracks tracks on a 4Gb RAM Mac mini Mainstage setup lol.
  7. Camelot Pro out now on iOS. I downloaded it and its great. Closest thing to main stage now. The plugins it supports are only audio unit right now, I hear IAA coming soon. Also a built in backtrack player also on its way. So far so good, splits, layers, song switching, score charts are all done from my keyboard, no touching of iPad needed. Softsynths take like 1-3 seconds to load when switching songs. Testing out this rig at my next gig. Been having great success with all iPad rig lately. Ravenscroft and neo soul keys being the stars of the show, rock solid no crashes.
  8. Im using the nektar lx61+. Great little budget midi controller.
  9. So I have been monitoring this app for a while now, and saw yesterday that it officially releases in a few weeks. There was a BETA available so hoping some of you guys here can give feedback. If you have tried the BETA do you think this could be the iOS mainstage? What interests me most is the ability to save song presets and switch between them with my midi controller, kind of like Kronos set list. Some videos on YouTube of Rudess demoing it as well. https://www.camelotpro.com/
  10. So completed a live gig with an all iPad rig last night. This is what I noticed: 1 - everything is much more stable with higher buffer. I have non pro iPad, 2018 regular iPad. I eventually had to settle at 512 buffer - but rock solid. 2 - sound check on a sunny day and iPad are the worst enemies. Keep your iPad shaded. That thing heats up like dynamite. 3 - BeatHawk IAP sounds live are amazing - probably the best sounding IMHO. Shout to sample tank bass guitars as well. Did left hand keys and that bass punches nicely. 4 - battery is more than enough to last 3 full sets. But arrive at the gig with 100%. overall I would probly recommend an iPad Pro so that buffers can be lower. Next gig I will run live tracks, play sounds and run loops all with iPad and Aum mixer live.
  11. Would you share a breakdown of what youre using with us? Pianos are Ravenscroft and Korg Module ivory EPS are Korg module scarbee For tracks I use launchpad and bloc waves Everything mixed and loaded in AUM mixer. I have midi faders and buttons assigned so its all one touch. For the sounds of my tracks (bass, horns, drums guitars etc) I use BeatHawk 3 IAP sounds. Man are they sweet sounding patches. Im finding without a proper file system on iOS it takes a bit longer to put things together than on MacBook. Heres to hoping we get full file systems with iOS13.
  12. Piano I used the stock logic Steinway and NI The Grandeur (fantasik for live us - can cut through a dense mix with settings tinkered) Tried pianoteq as well but had cpu issues. For Ep lounge lizard was surprisingly good. Used Scarbee as well. I found these sounds were more than enough and sounded good live. We ran tracks, live horns and vocals. My MacBook was 8gb ram retina late 2013. 128gb SSD I am currently testing out an all iPad rig with tracks using AUM mixer and several high quality iOS apps. I have three gigs lined up shortly that I am using it. The rig is 100% iOS. So far it is sounding good.
  13. Just recently completed a 3 month international contract with a band. Where I ran everything 100% mainstage. It was my first ever full mainstage live performance. Not one glitch or problem throughout three months performances. However before the first gigs started I ran it through many tests, played through the sets regularly to sort of bed the laptop in. Things I noticed during the 3 months: As mainstage displays the setlist quite nicely on a retina screen, I often had band members look on my screen to get a glance of the upcoming songs. It was very convenient to drag and drop songs into different orders each night. Running tracks, loops, several layers, splits was all so easy. Everything was assigned to midi keyboard. My kybrd has next and previous buttons so just hitting those moved me to the next song or set easily. Don't run mainstage on battery. Just don't. Had my power supply in at all times. During testing I found the battery mode to just cause mainstage to be unstable. Not sure why. But yeah the ease of use, customization, on the fly set and song changes made it so easy.
  14. Here is some piano and orchestra short pieces I worked on earlier this year. All sounds are from the EWQL library. Really like the sound of EWQL Pianos, they don't often get given the attention the deserve IMHO. https://soundcloud.com/lesterleroux/the-rising-sun?in=lesterleroux/sets/piano-spirit
  15. Some piano new age stuff I did in Logic Pro x. Added EWQL orchestra parts as well. https://soundcloud.com/lesterleroux/landr-the-great-beyond And heres my attempt at a Christmas jazz tune (Im not a jazz pianist but tried some jazzy grooves) https://soundcloud.com/lesterleroux/we-three-kings-1
