I just got my M8x a few days ago and find the action on light side. I also have a CP88 and it seems like a lighter/faster version of that keyboard. I haven't a chance to play it too much yet but did play around with the organs for a while and it seemed to work fine. John

I have the same impressions. I have a CP73 and the action feels like the Motif XF8.

The amp sim that is the front panel (Rtr A, B, Case, etc.) can be assigned to one part only. However, the Keys A and B effect slots have amp sims, distortion, and rotor effect you can select. John

I bought the John Melas librarian software which makes it easy to keep organized. I have many custom built Live Sets and like to organize them groups (all APs together, all organs together, etc) and the software makes this relatively simple. It also made it easy to back up the factory Live Sets, delete the ones I don't want, and make room for my stuff. John

Correct, that works. I've made that change on my YC as I almost all of my piano and EP patches have a pad or strings or something underneath and it was a real pain to have to adjust the foot controller every time I change sounds.

Similar to what I did for my YC61, I created and uploaded to Soundmondo several CP73/CP88 Live Sets which might be useful for some. There are three distinct Rhodes programs each created by layering two different Rhodes voices together for a unique sound. There are some 70s/80s type Poly Synths, Mellotrons and the obligatory Jump patch (as close as I could get it). I hope you find them useful. John

Ok, updated version of the first Fender Roads patch. I turned off the compressors, adjusted the EQ and lowered the velocity depth a little for both voices. I'll keep tweaking it, I never seem to stop tweaking my patches. Taxi 2.0.mp3

You're right it's a bit bright. I don't notice it so much just playing the YC through phones but its apparent on the recording. Here's a sample of the Suitcase patch with a phaser on it. I made it a week ago when I didn't really know the song at all, but you can get the idea of the tone. Taxi Suitecase.mp3

Thanks for the feedback. For the patches called Fender Rhodes and Suitcase Rhodes I was trying to get a sound like on the Bob James video where he playing a Suitcase himself. To my ears, it pretty close.

Hey everyone, I finally got uploads to work between Soundmondo and my YC61. I uploaded three Rhodes patches that were created by layering two different Rhodes voices to get the desired effect. I compared the ones called Fender Rhodes and Suitcase Rhodes to that YouTube video of Bob James performing Angela (Taxi theme) with a Suitcase Rhodes in a trio setting and they sound pretty close to me. There are also two Mellotrons, Strings and one designed to sound kind of like Watcher of the Skies. Two versions of Jump patches, several Poly Synths created by layering different combinations of synth voices with an FM organ. Also a big modular Moog lead sound. You should be able find my content by searching on my last name (Nadelin). Hope you find them useful. It was fun creating them, and I'm glad to be able to share them. John

I have the librarian and editor for the CP and YC as well. I am able to drag and drop patches and re-arrange them, but it does not update the CP in real time like the Nord software. What I do is first download all the live sets and save that as a back up. Then I save a new version of the same file and start re-arranging things the way I want them. When I'm done, I transmit everything back to the CP. Not as convenient as Nord but it gets the job, and I'm picky about how I like my stuff arranged and use lots of custom created live sets.
