"I know we were supposed to pay you more, but here you go..."
said the owner of Melodies Bar in LA.... right after he put his GUN on the table

Maybe (almost certainly) a dumb question, but how to do I set up a patch with the extra voice on the main keyboard on the SK1 ?
I set mine up with EV's on the lower manual which I use a midi controller for, and never attempted to put an EV on the main manual... but it might be nice for a jam session to not have to bring the other midi board.

During a blues gig, a fill in bass player comes in a half step off... it was some Albert King song, and a long time ago
We all tell him the key it is in, but he keeps playing in the wrong key trying to tell us to switch (to his wrong key). We gave him the cut out signal, and I played LH bass on the tune.
So we ask him, what in the fuck were you doing on that song? He says "the original version is in A" (or whatever, I forget)
To which we reply, well that's cute and all, but we play the Albert King Version in Bb, which was on the CD and what we told you, you are sitting in with us and you therefore.. HAVE TO PLAY IN THE SAME KEY AS THE REST OF THE BAND.
He insisted we should all have changed keys because he apparently couldn't move his fingers up/down one fret and play the song..... I personally requested to fire the guy, which I did, and enjoyed.

Ahh ....it's a saturation, overdrive thing...proper gain stage; I like it.
Never really knew that before.
Soooo is the EXP50 really worth the money being charged? Wouldn't the inside guts be pretty much the same as what's in the FC7? -- ring/tip in/out connections to a pot...or is there an actual circuit in the Hammond pedal?
my $.02
as a player coming to the SK1 from using in line vol pedals, I am quite satisfied with the FC7, the overdrive features it provides and the feel and the adjustability to the stand up setting with the appropriate angle.
Haven't used the expensive one, and when you touch it maybe magical orgasms happen, but I'd venture to say you'd be happy with the FC7. (I find it does a very good job, especially once I tweaked the Sk1 foot controller settings)

PHISH
polarizing as they may be, them fellas can play their instruments- and as a keyboard player, Page McConnell is god. The variety of styles that they play seamlessly blows my mind, rock, bluegrass, funk, reggae, jazz/fusion....etc
newer funk bands
MIghty Imperials
Lefties Soul Connection
Greyboy Allstars

Medeski Martin & Wood
Tool
Ella Fitzgerald
Duke Ellington
