  1. Absolutely VB3-2 allows me to play better because it sounds how I expect it to sound, it gives me all the little clicks and groans I expect, it growls when I want it to, it bites and is down right filthy. It's got some big cojones (?).

I've owned a 3300, unbelievable piece of hardware, one day I shall own one again!

So don't doubt for a second that the Mojo/VB3-2 would shoot me over the moon!

  2. A custom Mojo you say? :D :D :D

I have already emailed them to see what they think, I'd love it as an upgrade to my Mojo.

As for the Clavia C2D thing, it's the first company I know of that have made a clone that is compact with 4 sets of drawbars draw-FADERS!

It aint got the sound and feel I am looking for, I found that in the Mojo, now I want the extra drawbars and I am a happy man!

    Photoshop a wonderful thing :D

  3. Thanks for your comment WheelHead, I agree it is a small amount of weight really. Its more the bulk really. As Tesco say every little helps! haha

I have mine sounding beautiful right now absolutely love it! However when playing it I crave those extra drawbars so I can see what I am going to change to, and change it on the fly before I switch. Seems practical, if they fit put um on! :P

How do you like the logo on the 'poster'?

  4. I have been thinking about this for a little while. Would any of you buy it?

Yes the Hami-chord exists and is a fantastic thing but that's just not practical for myself and I am sure many others. Let me know your thoughts on it! :)

Refined the location of the buttons and given it some symmetry ;)

  5. I never said it wasn't solid, in fact I have stated a few time now the the build quality in my opinion is great, feeling more solid then the SK & xk. The small things are just my little niggles like the knobs not having a stripe of while so you can see it better in the dark. Its a great instrument. I'm saying nothing more on the subject now, I'm just repeating myself.
  6. Is it possible for the upper and lower manuals to transmit two different MIDI channels?

Yes, upper Chan 1, lower chan 2. As for changing them from 1-2 I can't answer that.

And can their on/off state be stored as part of a preset?

Presets are kinda odd in that they work like the Vintage B3 preset keys, one organ different drawbar settings. You cannot have different organs on the presets, only drawbar settings. (You have no idea how much this confused me at first... dont even go there).

I understand that the last thing this board was meant to be was a master controller, but I'm just wondering what its limits are. (And since Guido posted a video of himself triggering a module from the lower manual, he opened this can of worms!)

Incorrect, that is exactly what it is! A portable computer / sound module with a usb midi controller attached. (all wired inside of course, I had a look ;) )

Also, for that matter, how is the action for playing piano/EP sounds? I'm not expecting it to be anything like a weighted action, of course, but is it in the same league as, say the SK1 (which I would rate as pretty damn good for an unweighted board)?

Better than the SK1 but like you say it is not weighted but certainly triggers sounds MUCH better than the SK1 ever did when I had it.

That's all I can answer hope it helps some what.

  7. Hi Al

The pedal is long throw, it's quite firm feeling but can be adjusted via a screw.

I'm not sure which issue you mean with the half moon switch, the cable removes from the switch (very nice cable too!) it is then almost flush with the base of the Mojo. It was already fitted out of the box, again needs a tool like the backplate, but can be unscrewed with fingers after it is loosened.

  8. @b3boy

The build quality is excellent feels better than my SK1, this is my opinion of course.

It's very tight does not move or creak in the slightest paintwork is good also. The wood end panels are beautiful much harder than the XK3c I once had, which dented like tin foil.

    edit:

Mitch mentioned above the screws on the back needing an tool this is true for the first time you need access, however, I'd like to add that they protrude enough so that you can use your fingers to unscrew them.

all will be clear tomorrow I shall take some high quality photos, I'll do this when I get up I have nothing better to do. Lucky me haha.

  9. Hi Joe, I'll quickly answer your question about the back, its the inputs on the motherboard which is housed within. Allowing you to connect a monitor keyboard and mouse. It has a 2GB Flash drive allowing it to boot Windows XP and VB3 II at a fairly speedy rate. I have no issue with the boot time, very good in my opinion.

Anyway it looks a little something like this
