  1. I've been using OnSong and an Airturn Firefly for at least 5 years now (same pedal, updated the iPad ;) ). Can't say enough good things about it, for my purposes: lyrics, basic chord info, little reminder notes.

I've assisted many people to get OnSong working for their rigs sending out program changes and doing many of the more advanced functions. Easy peasy as long as you take your time and are methodical about it.

OnSong in Night Mode is, for me, perfect, and worth every penny.

Oh, and the Firefly is only two switches, and remarkably more robust than the plastic construction might at first appear. :2thu:

+1 for OnSong and yes, in night mode LOL, its much better that way (black screen, white text btw)

It is a great product. I also use it to send all my MIDI PC changes to my synth apps when I change songs. I do not use a page turner but I think it is compatible with most of them.

  2. You know what, I think I van never been able to send midi (or is it receive program change??, cannot remember....) with my AX Synth.... ok it might be me but I didn't find changing midi channel very easy etc....So, I'm using it mainly with the inboard sounds, just soloing and the synths/Guitarish sounds are quite good....enough to have the girls going crazy so, I'm happy....

My understanding on that is that it transmits PC only - no bank changes. So no cc00 or cc32 when you change a patch. This is a problem. Also I believe that the volume of an external patch was either not stored or not transmitted.

  3. Uh, so how does it work when you're *not* using the internal sounds. (Digs around...) Bluetooth MIDI, I've never used that--does it have good enough latency and reliability?

I am using it (Bluetooth MIDI) currently and it works great! No noticeable latency - I am using an AX-7, Yamaha MB-BT01 bluetooth adapter going to a 2017 iPad

  4. Not so important to me. I expect a bunch of typical low-end Roland "good enough" sounds, and am enticed by the MIDI capabilities to do better if needed. If the sounds are better than that, it's a bonus!

Ditto. I have an all ipad rig for sounds so I love that bluetooth is included!
