  1. As far as strings, no. Currently on my Strat- Fender Original 150s 10-46, Godin Icon- Elixer 10-52, ESP LTD KH 602- Elixer 12-52, EPI ES-335- D'Addario XL 10-46. I use different picks depending on the guitar and situation.
  2. You might want to check out the Line 6 HX Effects Multi Pedal. I recently bought one for around $500 for recording. I like it a lot.
  3. I bought a new vintage sunburst version last year from Guitar Center. Gotta great price on it too. I love playing it. Great tone.
  4. I don't use mics at all anymore. In my small home studio, it doesn't make sense, They're a pain in the ass. My guitars, electric, acoustic electric and bass, all go directly from my small Blackstar 1 watt amp clean into my DAW. And then I go from there digitally.
  5. Everything we'd planned has gone by the wayside. Steve Hackett concert in Jacksonville, postponed, wedding in southern Georgia postponed until next spring and our trip to Savannah cancelled. As far as grocery shopping, here on the north Atlantic coast of Florida, it hasn't been bad. We have a local Publix that's very close to us, but they're not consistently stocked. We have another one farther away in the boonies which is about a half hour drive one way that is more consistently stocked. Paper products are the big problem. We're well stocked now. My wife does most of the shopping. I told her I'll give her a break and search for paper products tomorrow. In the meantime, I'm playing a lot and laying down a lot of tracks on my new DAW system which is working perfectly with my new laptop.
  6. My wife and I are going with friends to a Steve Hackett concert later this month in the Jacksonville area. In early April we're going with same friends to a large wedding in southern Georgia. We'll take the necessary precautions.
  7. Not much we can do about old music, old books, or anything else old, except enjoy what we like. What we create today will be old tomorrow. The word "old" itself, is relative, along with everything else. But I state the obvious, which goes along with this thread quite nicely.
  8. On my board now: MXR Flanger Danelectro Chili Dog Octave Danelectro Chicken Salad Vibrato Electro Harmonix Pulsar Tremolo Boss DD-5 Delay

    Pedal Pushers

Relatively recent for me- Boss CS-3 compression sustainer, updated Boss DS-1 distortion, MXR Flanger and Electro Harmonix Pulsar tremolo.
  10. The hall of shame is riddled with misfires. So many great artists not in, so many not so great, in. A pet peeve of mine but I don't dwell on it. I think most of us realize that the hall is a complete joke.
  11. I've had my original Dunlop wah for decades. I use it sparingly. It works well between my dirt and modulation pedals.
  12. Music wise it was a creative year for me in the studio. I recorded more than 30 instrumental numbers. Towards the end of the year I realized I needed to upgrade my DAW. I upgraded my Presonus software and purchased a new Presonus Thunderbolt interface unit. I'll be getting a new Lenovo Thunderbolt ready laptop for Christmas. I'm looking forward to another good year musically.
  13. Seriously? Too many to speak of for me. I couldn't even attempt a top 100, let alone a top 5.
  14. The trigger has been pulled. I got a Thunderbolt capable Lenovo laptop for $655 on Amazon. Free shipping. 2 in 1 and plenty of power. The wife says I can't open it until Christmas. No problem. I have plenty to do, including working on my chops. Retirement is great!
  15. A new DAW computer. I already have the software and hardware. I'm pretty sure which computer I'm getting. I'm waiting for Black Friday. The trigger is set.
  16. I'm in the process of doing same. For Christmas my wife will buy me a new laptop with a Thunderbolt mother board which I need to have to work with the Presonus software and hardware that I've already purchased.
  17. For me- 1. Jeff Healey 2. Steve Morris 3. Pat Travers
  18. I just went up a gauge on my Strat. Fender 150s 10-46.
  19. As I said. I absolutely agree.
  20. I think that's a pretty weak field. Good to see Todd Rungren in there but I don't think he'll get in anytime soon. Where's Boston, Blue Oyster Cult, Styx, Foreigner, ELP, Joe Walsh, Kansas, Grand Funk, UFO, The Scorpions, Jethro Tull, Johnny Winter, Mannfred Mann's Earth Band, Midnight Oil, Robin Trower, Steppenwolf, Supertramp and Bad Company amongst others. Ok. I got that out of my system. I'm good for another year.
  21. Beautiful guitar CEB. I really like my EPI ES-335 Pro which I purchased last spring. No mods needed. Stays in tune. Sounds and plays great.
  22. What I meant dbm are guitars with just one pickup.
