  1. If you can find one, the Quiklok 716 (single) or 726 (double) ("L" if you want the wide version shown in the pic) will do the trick if you add the Z731 speaker stands. You can add various accessories to suite your setup. Page 26 of the catalog has them although they don't show on the US site.
  2. Looking at organizing the mass of wires behind my rack and studio so I've svengled the web looking for suggestions around how to go about it, but most of the advice is around cosmetics vs. noise and interference considerations. While the point is for it to look better, I don't want to inadvertently create a problem. In the spaghetti are: Mains power DC power powered USB hub unpowered USB hub HDMI USB Midi Midi 5 pin Audio TR Audio TRS LED lighting My initial thought is to just group like for like and see how that works, but before spending hours doing that, are there any "don't do this" rules to consider? On a related thought, what about having to coil TR connection cables - coil near signal source, near destination or ? Any feedback greatly appreciated.
  3. Been showing Roland a little love lately. Needed some good acoustic emulations plus some older Roland synth sounds and the Integra-7 has them in spades. And because it dropped into my lap, a TR-8s and the samples from Mars library. All the drum machines of yore in one place Pretty much years of experimenting ahead between these two boxes!
  4. I was planning to upgrade from the Key Largo to the KL8, but ended up keeping them both (*home studio use). I have the Largo on top of the Kurz with my analogue boards and the effects rack run through it. The monitor out of the Largo goes into the KL8, along with other equipment. The KL8 has a port that allows you to chain 2 (or more?) of them together if you need more channels, but this seems to work. The only knocks on either unit is that they both don't support iOS (may not matter) and on the KL8 you can have one or the other USB inputs, but not both. It's designed as a manual fail-over for your redundant laptop rig; it just would have been nice to have the ability to access both simultaneously. I added an iConnectivity Audio4+ which speaks to both my iPad and Mac Mini simultaneously so I'm not using the USB features of the Radials. If I were doing it again today, I'd go for the Ashly 308b for the extra channels and the iConnect PlayAudio12 for my midi and USB computer connections.
  5. Finally managed to get a Voyager. After looking for YEARS and watching the prices climbing up, this one popped up on Facebook Market nearby at a reasonable price. After a very interesting exchange (the guy is an artist who just loved how it looked and playing with it to make weird sounds) it is now mine! This was going to be my retirement gift to me, but it's arrived a few years early. I certainly wasn't looking for an XL but it was just too good a deal and condition to pass up. It sounds so good. Currently running it through a Lexicon 200 for a little delay and reverb too. Now I need to figure out where to put the PolyBrute. I did buy the legs for it... http://vrcms.asyuler.com/wp-content/uploads/Voyager-XL.jpg
  6. I suspect you will really enjoy it. While it is capable of excellent reproducing sounds from the legendary synths of yore, it is exceptional at allowing you to just explore a sound. The Polybrute connect editor is a work of art; you can see everything you're doing on the PB immediately on screen or hear whatever you're changing in the editor on screen in real time. Combine it with a touch screen pc and the hours just slip away...
  7. Yup, RC aircraft for 40+ years. Always helpful to have a second ridiculously expensive hobby! Mostly precision aerobatics and giant scale; the nice thing about keyboards if that if you dumb-thumb it you're not left with a smoking hole in the ground. I could buy a CS-80 or a Jupiter 8 if I had those losses back :-)
  8. It looks like there's no need to go overboard in this application and there are several options that will work. I'll keep my eyes open for a used sub locally and see what comes up. And maybe the presonus goes on sale!
  9. So I picked up a Moog Minitaur because I convinced myself the PK-5 pedals needed their own synth (a weak rationalization I know, but I got a new toy!). Not surprisingly, my little Dynaudio LYD-5s aren't exactly shaking the paint off the walls so I'm looking for the best way to get some of that Taurus joy in my practice area. I can either add a dedicated sub to them to create a 2.1 system, or I can trade them in on a set of LYD-48s (or similar). It seems that a sub can go anywhere from $400-$1500 in the same size and weight class so there must be some magic in there to justify the price difference? Dynaudio has a 9" single and a 9" twin for $1k and $1.7k respectively (ouch), while Presonus has the Temblor 10 for $400 with a similar power rating. And many others in between, which are also rare to find to audition locally. I'm not mastering any recordings, the system won't be leaving the house, it's purely for sound reproduction while playing for my own enjoyment. I'm sure several folks have been down this road have learned something along the way as to which was the better approach. If you'd care to share your thoughts or experience, all advice is welcome! Wayne
  10. Not surprising - I know a lot of Vancouver musicians but since moving to the Island in 2016, I"ve been gigging solo, very little networking. Thanks though, perhaps he"ll read this and reach out. That would be me! Happy to meet for a bevvy or take in one of your shows once the restrictions are lifted.
  11. My Polybrute arrived today! Been waiting on this one for a while.
  12. The iConnect Audio2+ and 4+ will allow you to do it. If you find one used, they're not too expensive. Takes a bit to figure out the software, but once you do, it does a great job of letting Windows and iOS device communicate. I use Ableton and am not familiar with Gig Performer, so YMMV.
  13. Treated my faithful PC3x to a couple of accessories. The KORE 64 came up on the local buy and sell for $60(!) and it looks like the PC2SRIB ribbon is going out of production so scooped one for $100 off ebay. Very happy with both and hopefully this will get me through until the K2700 is shipping!
