  1. Sorry I meant to attach a spreadsheet I found (not made by me and don’t remember where i got it so I can’t give credit, sorry) that gives the PROGRAM and  LSB values for a given program number (multi number in multi mode) - also here’s a screenshot of how I set it up using setlistmaker to change patches (I assume there’s a similar midi setup screen using Camelot?)- in this case below my multi/program number on Forte is 1153 so in my Setlistmaker I type in 0,9,1 for the values of MSB, LSB and PROGRAM (note that MSB is always zero, at least that’s been my experience anyway:

  2. FWIW I don’t use Camelot (sorry if this is moving off topic but might be helpful to some?) I’ve been using Setlist Maker on my first gen iPad Pro to send program changes to my Forte flawlessly for the past 6 months - I keep the Forte in “Multi” Mode and if I need to play a single patch I create a “Multi” with just that one patch so I don’t need to go back and forth between Program and Multi modes.   I have my entire setlist programmed for a gig (easily edited on the fly if there’s an audible called) and just step through the setlist and as the next song comes up it changes my Forte patch and displays any notes, chords, samples to trigger, lyrics, pdf files I have attached to that tune.   Pretty slick piece of software and the developer is really responsive to questions, bugs, etc.  (no affiliation with them whatsoever).

  3. dB - just FYI - I just checked the Dynamic theme and it's still doing the same thing as before (blank white screen when going to next page in a post) on both my Mac and iPad.      I'm sure the devs will update it eventually but atm it appears to be broken.   I'm fine with using the Bravo 6 dark theme now anyway so no biggie at all.   Thanks David!

  4. Yeah I prefer the dark theme too … I just tried “Bravo 6” and that one seems to work so I’ll keep that one for a while and see if everything else looks okay.

Thanks Dave Bryce for everything you do on here.  I didn’t mean to bring this very minor screen issue up as an insult or anything towards you or any of the other admins who are putting their time and efforts into keeping this great place going.   It was just an observation and I sincerely apologize if my post was taken otherwise.

  5. If I'm reading a post on here that has more than one page and I click the "Next Page" button to bring up the following page, what comes up is a blank white screen.   If I then "Refresh" that blank white screen that next page comes up and displays correctly.   Is this happening with anyone else or is it just me?   I use Mac OS and iOS and it happens on my iPad, iPhone and Mac along with any and all browsers I use (Safari, Chrome, Firefox).   I might add that I use the "dark mode" for my screen displays (hmmm I need to check that).

It's really not a big deal at all but just one small/minor thing but figured I'd ask anyway in case anybody else is seeing it too.

    Thanks!

  6. Glad to see it finally on iOS, albeit for a monthly/annual fee rather than the one-time charge of the desktop versions.   I’ve been holding out upgrading my 1st gen iPad Pro (which runs everything I use today just fine) but this might get me to open my wallet sooner rather than later.   I’ll probably wait until the .1 release to make sure they’ve shaken some of the bigger bugs out of it though.

Now that bag is pretty interesting...I wonder if it would be sturdy and large enough to hold the spider pro top down...probably look pretty funny unless I got the bag fixed to have the "spider" part sticking up.   It kind of gets the wheels turning a bit on DIY ideas too :D    Honestly I gig way more with the Omega pro, which presents different challenges, but at least it rides great on top of my husky tool cart.

On the same site, check out the "wagon bags"!   That actually might work great for vertical transport.  Unfortunately they don't seem to have one for my cart, the R14.

Thinking more outside the box, I wonder how one of those car cargo nets might work vs multiple separate bungies.  Not sure how stretchy those are.

I put a bungee (actually it’s an long thick thing that looks and works like a giant twisty tie made of rubber with a bendy metal core) around the spider arms in the “pointed up” position before I put it in the bag so it all sticks out of the top of the bag, but nothing flails around and is secure.

Can the bag be closed with those straps when it isn't hanging off the cart? If so, how tightly? I might grab one, but it would be a lot more practical if it functioned as a "regular" bag off the cart as well...

Hmmmm … good question.   I know it can pull tight but never thought about using it like a regular bag off the cart.   I just leave it hanging on the cart handle and put my spider Pro Stand in there folded (without any other case/cover on stand) with top of stand sticking out the top of the bag.   It is deep enough that I don’t even use the tie down straps on the bag at all as it hangs just fine and is easy to pull the spider out when I get to stage.   I also store it in my garage in the bag hanging as well (unless I have my full rig setup in house for practice).

I’ll check when I get home and let you know.   I’ll try to grab a couple pix as well so you can see what I mean too.

    LOL!

Jerry's picture shows my issue--soft case for the Modx so I can't (or won't) lay the spider pro on it.  I love the soft case for most gigs where I just carry it in, but when it's cart time I wish I had a hard case.  I'd probably get one if I was sure I'd be keeping the Modx7, but again I might be changing thigs up in the near future, and probably with a six octave board  so a case I preemptively bought now probably won't work well for both.

I've got it working vertically but it's not going to be quite as stable (though it is shorter which is a pro).

You guys must not be in FL, I don't see a Lasko drying fan strapped in there :)   Seriously, those little fans are ubiquitous here and for good reason.  They come in "rock and roll black" if you want them low profile on stage and have been a lifesaver (and handy at home if you need to dry something!)

I love the Lasko fans here in Maryland for our outdoor gigs.   Low profile and really move the air.  Mine fits on my R&R cart along with my 2 boards (88 and 61 key), SSv3, UPS Battery backup, Spider Pro, amp stand.   I purchased the side bags for the R& R cart and my spider stand fits perfectly in in on the end vertical pull handle so I don’t need to worry about it falling off or using bungies.    Next time I use my cart I’ll snap a pic and post it (I don’t use it for every gig).   Here’s a link to the R&R cart bags I’m talking about for the end handles (there’s a lot of space in them and are very strong and durable from my experience with them):  ** no affiliation with R&R carts

  10. We do several outdoor gigs as well and I purchased a large/jumbo size grill cover, like the one you are thinking of using.   It fits perfectly and I can slip it on easily because it is oversized and has Velcro on the outer edges to snug up the corners and keep it on as well.    I always keep it near my monitor on stage/ground beside me just in case.    I’ve used tarps before but then you have to worry about wind, etc so too much of a pain for me to deal with those any more.

Thanks. Did that a few years ago. Alfie is one of those tunes that I’ve always loved, but never got a chance to play so I did that just for fun. Sounds like I didn’t even go back and play a proper piano part.  I’ll just lay in verticals when I’m in Sibelius so I know what the chords are to write the other stuff. That harmonica probably took better part of a day for me to play it in. I had to do it a line at a time because I suck so bad. Lol  Hey…whatever it takes, right. Just enjoy being inside of that beautiful tune. Burt could sure write.

Really enjoyed your take on it, and the harmonica sounded like you had Stevie in there with you lol!   Well done!

  12. I’ve used Setlist Maker for iOS since it first came out.  Does everything I’ve ever needed, including notes, pdfs, separate lyrics area, chords, Midi (for changing patches, etc), sample player, sets, songs, etc.

Highly recommended and the guy that develops it (Arlo) is very responsive to feedback too.   Here’s a link to the website to read more:

  13. Damn.  I saw him on tour with Elvis Costello years ago at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, DC.   What a great show and memorable evening.   Another very talented muso joins the big band in the sky… RIP Mr Bacharach

  14. Try installing google photos if you happen to have an upgraded google account.  It syncs all photos and videos and you can have it remove them once uploaded to google drive.   I think I pay like $20/ year for an upgraded google account giving me 100GB so decent deal too.

  15. In case you need to open the keyboard up here’s a forum post that helped me figure out how to do it, along w some pix I took of the inside of my Forte.   It’s pretty easy to do but make sure to keep screws in the right order because they are different sizes and can mess w keyboard alignment if not put back properly.

Hope you get it sorted out and working consistently!  (P.S. - I’d still use a battery backup/ups on your power to rule it out as an issue as has been the case w me)
